Born in Havana on October 4, 1951.
Graduate Pathology technician. He later studied at the Higher Institute of Arts and graduated from the Bachelor of Performing Arts in 1982.
In 1990 his character in the film Maria Antonia, directed by Sergio Giral, consecrated as an actress of Cuban cinema. They are especially remembered his performances in plays Contigo pan and onion, Cuban playwright Hector Quintero and in the park, the Russian writer Alexander Guelman, with staging of the Teatro Estudio group; work shared with the Cuban actor Adolfo Llauradó a memorable theatrical season for the public and the critics.
Recognized for its performance in Cuban popular telenovelas. Remembered and admired for his portrayal of the character in the soap opera Fair Tierra Brava.
Besides teaching acting classes, he went to amateur and professional actors in community theater projects. It was part of the group Teatro Estudio.
One of their most valuable work in 2014 was his character in the award-winning teacher Carmela film Conduct, Ernesto Daranas. Among the many laurels earned by its Carmela figure Best Actress, awarded by The Havana Film Festival New York in 2014,
It was very versatile, both in theater and in film and television and his deliveries in Cuba.
He died on July 27, 2015 in Havana, Cuba, victim of cancer. Actress ashes were scattered at sea, adjacent to Torreon de la Chorrera, near the Restaurant 1830, in Vedado, Havana, Cuba.

Fue una actriz cubana de teatro, cine y televisión. Reconocida como una de las actrices cubanas más relevantes de todos los tiempos, admirada por sus excepcionales dotes histriónicas y muy querida por su nobleza, como ser humano.
Nació en La Habana el 4 de octubre de 1951.
Graduada de técnico en Anatomía patológica. Posteriormente realizó estudios en el Instituto Superior de Arte y se graduó de la Licenciatura en Artes Escénicas en 1982.
En 1990 su personaje en el filme María Antonia, dirigido por Sergio Giral, la consagró como actriz del cine cubano. Son especialmente recordadas sus actuaciones en las piezas teatrales Contigo pan y cebolla, del dramaturgo cubano Héctor Quintero y En el parque, del escritor ruso Alexander Guelman, con puesta en escena del grupo Teatro Estudio; obra que compartió con el actor cubano Adolfo Llauradó en una temporada teatral memorable para el público y la crítica especializada.
Reconocida por su desempeño en populares telenovelas cubanas. Recordada y admirada por su interpretación del personaje de Justa en la telenovela Tierra Brava.
Además de impartir clases de actuación, dirigió a actores aficionados y profesionales en proyectos de teatro comunitario. Formó parte del grupo Teatro Estudio.
Uno de sus trabajos más valorados en 2014 fue su personaje de la maestra Carmela en la multipremiada película Conducta, de Ernesto Daranas. Entre los numerosos lauros que mereció por su Carmela, figura el de Mejor Actriz, otorgado por El Havana Film Festival New York en 2014.
Fue muy versátil, tanto en el teatro como en el cine y la televisión y entregas suyas en Cuba.
Falleció el 27 de julio de 2015 en La Habana, Cuba, víctima de cáncer. Las cenizas de la actriz fueron regadas al mar, aledaño al Torreón de la Chorrera, cercano al Restaurante 1830, en el Vedado, La Habana, Cuba.
