New Movie is Filmed in CubaSan Pablo de Yao, CUBA-The movie “The River’s Edge”, the debut of Cuban documentary filmmaker Rigoberto Jimenez, is rolled in the vicinity of this village in the municipality of Buey Arriba, in the Sierra Maestra.
As reported in today’s digital page Cuban Centre for Television Serrana, unique of its kind in Latin America, this is a feature film inspired by the life of the sisters Lola, Gelacia, Pepa and Cira Garlobo Gil, featured in the documentary “The four sisters. ”
The film is recorded since last Monday, written by Arturo Arango and Xenia Rivery on an original argument Roberto Jimenez and Renan, and is set in three stages of history (1950’s, 1960 and 1990).
Singularity, the plot includes sites in the highest mountains and famous of the island, as well as characters and environments not covered in the Cuban audiovisual production.
The actions of the protagonists are enshrined actresses Adela Legra, Coralita Fast and Oneida Hernandez, and the argument highlights the female figure, especially the reality and the perspective of rural women.
The cast includes young actors and actresses, most of the province of Granma, as Mirelys Echenique, Yudexi de la Torre, Ilietis Batista Danieyi Yunia Venice and Jerez.
The last four sisters Garlobo embody in his youth, during the 50’s of the twentieth century, a period in which to spend most of history.
Expected to burn until the end of April on location in the mountains of the municipality of Buey Arriba, “The River’s Edge” is an independent production, supported by Television Serrana and the International School of Film and Television of San Antonio de los Baños.
The documentary “Four Sisters” was made by Jiménez in 1998, and won awards in various competitions.
Opened in 1993, Television Serrana project is in the town of San Pablo de Yao, has a center of community culture studies and won hundreds of awards in national and international events.

San Pablo de Yao, CUBA- La película “Al borde del río”, ópera prima del documentalista cubano Rigoberto Jiménez, se rueda en las inmediaciones de este poblado del municipio de Buey Arriba, en la Sierra Maestra.
Según publica hoy la página digital del centro cubano de Televisión Serrana, único de su tipo en América Latina, se trata de un largometraje de ficción inspirado en la vida de las hermanas Lola, Gelacia, Pepa y Cira Garlobo Gil, protagonistas del documental “Las cuatro hermanas”.
El filme se graba desde el lunes último, con guión de Arturo Arango y Xenia Rivery, sobre un argumento original de Jiménez y Roberto Renán, y está ambientado en tres etapas de la historia del país (décadas de 1950, 1960 y 1990).
Como singularidad, el argumento abarca parajes del sistema montañoso más alto y famoso de la Isla, además de personajes y entornos poco tratados en la producción audiovisual cubana.
Las actuaciones protagónicas son de las consagradas actrices Adela Legrá, Coralita Veloz y Oneida Hernández, y el argumento resalta a la figura femenina, especialmente a la realidad y el punto de vista de la mujer del campo.
El elenco incluye a jóvenes actores y actrices, en su mayoría de la provincia de Granma, como Mirelys Echenique, Yudexi de la Torre, Ilietis Batista, Danieyi Venecia y Yunia Jerez.
Las cuatro últimas encarnan a las hermanas Garlobo en su juventud, durante los años 50 del siglo XX, etapa en la cual transcurre la mayor parte de la historia.
Prevista para grabarse hasta finales de abril, en locaciones en las montañas del municipio de Buey Arriba, “Al borde del río” es una producción independiente, con apoyo de Televisión Serrana y la Escuela Internacional de Cine y Televisión de San Antonio de los Baños.
El documental “Las cuatro hermanas” fue realizado por Jiménez en 1998, y obtuvo reconocimientos en diversos certámenes.
Inaugurado en 1993, el proyecto de Televisión Serrana está en el poblado de San Pablo de Yao, tiene un centro de estudios de la cultura comunitaria y conquistó centenares de premios en eventos nacionales e internacionales.
