The vedette Rosita Fornes came to Miami to celebrate his 90th birthday with a large group of friends, fans and artists Cuban exiles.
The entertainment to be prudujo Fornés on Monday at the club The Place of Miami, Calle Ocho, and met the likes of singers Mirta Medina, Marcelino Valdés and Ana Maria Perera, and players Ernesto Molina, Fidel Pérez Michel and Rosa Maria Medel, their only daughter.
Fornés shared the stage with them and sang “My loyal”, a number composed of the duo The Diego for a show that was attended by the legendary diva at Miami Dade Counbty Auditorium in November.
“Our Rosa, turns 90 and celebrates with his people from either side of the sea. Summoned by his art and love, turn to be one, the usual, Cubans, no matter where we are,” wrote Jose Iturriaga, one of those who attended the evening.
The artist was born in New York on February 11, 1923.
Cuba paid tribute by the ninetieth anniversary of the famous showgirl in a concert of operetta and zarzuela at the National Theatre in early February. The show consisted of works that had as protagonist, including The Merry Widow, The Caste Susana Leandras and with the participation of the choir of the National Lyric Theater of Cuba, of which she was a founder in 1962.
On 28 December there were feted with the Cuban public 74 years of his career in the concert Rosita Fornes with experiences in the Karl Marx theater in Havana.
But there was still the celebration in Miami, where Rosita is worshiped and venerated in circles of friends and followers.
“His eternal and loyal fans we do not accept the claim retirement and, again and again, on stage,” he said in his blog Habanero Iturriaga 2000. “Many of us have mothers who go out of the 80s, we care, we take the arm to walk, we look after them all the time. We seem fragile, delicate, we fear a fall, and did enough, we want to rest. With Rosita, the opposite is true, even though we try, to see her look eternally young, vital. Maybe for a moment notice her age, but just a gesture, a movement, a word and Rosa, once again the usual, which admired since childhood. Her light makes the miracle to erase years pains and diseases. ”
After years of cancellations and controversies for its presence in the city, seems to have reached a stage of normalcy to their local public stage performances. Last year also featured a long interview to the prying eyes, leading by AmericaTeVe Alejandro Rios, and there was the presentation of his film Cheek to Cheek (2011) of Delso Aquino, in Cuba Eight club of Little Havana.

Rosita Fornés celebrates her birthday in Miami
La vedette Rosita Fornés vino a Miami para celebrar su 90 cumpleaños junto a un nutrido grupo de amigos, admiradores y artistas cubanos del exilio.
El agasajo a Fornés se prudujo el pasado lunes en el club The Place of Miami, en la Calle Ocho, y reunió a figuras como los cantantes Mirta Medina, Marcelino Valdés y Ana María Perera, y los actores Ernesto Molina, Fidel Pérez Michel y Rosa María Medel, su única hija.
Fornés compartió el escenario con ellos y cantó “A mi público fiel”, un número compuesto por el dúo Las Diego para un espectáculo que contó con la presencia de la legendaria diva en el Miami Dade Counbty Auditorium, en pasado noviembre.
“Nuestra Rosa, cumple 90 años y lo celebra junto a su pueblo de un lado y otro del mar. Convocados por su arte y amor, volvemos a ser uno, los de siempre, cubanos, no importa donde estemos”, escribió José Iturriaga, uno de los asistentes a la velada.
La artista nació en Nueva York el 11 de febrero de 1923.
Cuba rindió tributo por el nonagésimo aniversario de la célebre vedette en un concierto de operetas y zarzuelas en el Teatro Nacional, a comienzos de febrero. El espectáculo estuvo conformado por obras que la tuvieron como protagonista, entre ellas La viuda alegre, Las Leandras y La casta Susana, con la participación del coro del Teatro Lírico Nacional de Cuba, del que ella fue fundadora en 1962.
El pasado 28 de diciembre había festejado con el público cubano los 74 años de su carrera artística en el concierto Rosita Fornés con vivencias, en el teatro habanero Karl Marx.
Pero quedaba pendiente la celebración en Miami, donde Rosita es objeto de culto y veneración en círculos de amigos y seguidores.
“Sus eternos y fieles admiradores no nos resignamos a su retiro y la reclamamos, una y otra vez, en escena”, comentó Iturriaga en su blog Habanero 2000. “Muchos de nosotros, tenemos madres que pasan de los 80s, las cuidamos, las tomamos del brazo al andar, queremos cuidarlas todo el tiempo. Nos parecen frágiles, delicadas, tememos una caída, ya hicieron bastante, queremos que descansen. Con Rosita, sucede lo contrario, por más que lo intentemos, al mirarla la vemos eternamente joven, vital. Tal vez por un instante notemos su edad, pero basta un gesto, un movimiento, una palabra y Rosa, vuelve a ser la de siempre, la que admiramos desde niños. Su luz hace el milagro de borrar años, penas y dolencias”.
Después de años de cancelaciones y polémicas por su presencia en la ciudad, parece haber llegado una etapa de normalidad para sus actuaciones en escenarios públicos locales. El pasado año también ofreció una larga entrevista al programa La mirada indiscreta, que conduce Alejandro Ríos por AmericaTeVe, y se produjo la presentación de su película Mejilla con mejilla (2011), de Delso Aquino, en el club Cuba Ocho de La Pequeña Habana.
