El cubano Guillermo Rigondeaux retuvo su corona de peso súper gallo de la Asociación Mundial de Boxeo (AMB) y agregó el cinturón de la misma categoría por la Organización Mundial de Boxeo (OMB) al vencer este sábado por unanimidad a Nonito Donaire en el Radio City Music Hall de Nueva York, informa la AP.

Rigondeaux mejoró su foja a 12-0 tras recibir tarjetas de 114-113, 115-112 y 116-111 en el combate para unificar las coronas de las 122 libras.

El cubano, que conquistó dos medallas olímpicas de oro en la década pasada, no pudo noquear a un rival por cuarta vez desde que se convirtió en profesional, pero superó el haber sido derribado en el décimo asalto, imponiéndose de manera clara y castigando a Donaire en las dos últimas rondas.
