In 1998 Jesús moved to London and quickly became a feature of the city’s vibrant salsa scene, performing or sharing the stage with many prestigious artists including Oscar D’Leon, Gilberto Santa Rosa, Tito Nueves, Lusito Quintero, El Cano, Lusito Carrion, Maelo Ruiz, Tito Gomez, Leodan and Roberto Torres. He joined the well known band Ska Cubano when they were formed in 2004 and has since performed with them at many prestigious venues and festivals around the world including the Festival International de Montreal (Canada), Fuji Rock (Japan), the various WOMAD Festivals (UK, Australia, New Zealand, Sevilla, Canary Islands), Glastonbury (UK), Roskilde (Danemark) and the Nobel Peace Price ceremony in 2005. In 2009, with Gabriel Fonseca, he formed his own band, Son de Cuba, to concentrate on developing his own style. Jesús is currently finalising his first album “Pa’ mi gente” in which feature Carlitos Kalunga (singer of Bueno Vista Social Club), Jesús “Chucho” Valdés and the rapper Papo Record. On this album nine out of eleven songs are written by Jesús and his twin brother Amaury Cutiño.

His repertoire displays both the flamenco and African roots of Cuban music and consists mostly of Jesús’ compositions (Te Sorprendi, Bailarina, No Me Castigues, Tu Boca, Corazon Apagao, Me Causa Pena, Sensacional, Yo Quiero Fiesta…) as well as some Cuban and Colombian modern classics (72 Hecheros, La Luna or Ya No Hace Falta by Bamboleo…). Style and instrumentation range from a traditional cha-cha-cha to a hot and pulsating timba or reggaeton.

With a line-up of 6 to 12 musicians (Cubans, Colombian, Italian and British), all considered among the best Latin musicians in London, the band has successfully created its own identity and an innovative sound which intertwines traditional Cuban ‘son’, timba, mambo, samba, flamenco and reggaeton. It is fast, exciting, romantic and eminently danceable.

The band’s hot mix of modern Cuban beats and Jesus’ charismatic stage presence have attracted an enthusiastic following on the London club scene and guarantee to get any audience up and dancing.

JESÚS CUTIÑO has performed at various world music or jazz venues that include Ronnie Scott’s (the band has a residency at Ronnie Scott’s Upstairs), Momo’s, Passing Clouds, Charlie Wrights International, Floridita, Jazz Cafe Posk and the New Empowering Church.

They also perform regularly for some of the best promoters of Cuban music and arts in the UK such as Cuba 50, Viva La Revolucion!, Cubacheche, Salsa Explosion or the Cuban School of Arts. Abroad they have performed in Taiwan, Spain and Italy. Finally, they have performed at the Hop Farm Festival in Kent (July 2010), the Cultura y Cubania Festival in London (October 2010) and more recently performed live at the prestigious Barbican Centre in London with Wynton Marsalis &Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra) and Pedrito Martinez Group (July 2012).

Jesús Cutiño es un guitarrista, cantante y compositor. Él es un artista consumado de muchos estilos de la guitarra incluyendo, jazz latino cubano, flamenco y ska. Jesús nació en Las Tunas, Cuba. Después de estudiar la guitarra y el tres (guitarra cubana, que es la base del sonido del hijo) Jesús se unió a una banda local llamada “Superbanda Surik ‘donde perfeccionó sus habilidades como cantante y compositor.

En 1998 Jesús se trasladó a Londres y se convirtió rápidamente en una característica de la escena de la salsa vibrante de la ciudad, realizando o compartiendo escenario con muchos artistas de prestigio como Oscar D’León, Gilberto Santa Rosa, Tito Nueves, Lusito Quintero, El Cano, Lusito Carrión, Maelo Ruiz, Tito Gómez, Leodan y Roberto Torres. Su repertorio se muestra tanto el flamenco y las raíces africanas de la música cubana y consiste sobre todo en composiciones de Jesús (Te Sorprendi, Bailarina, pero no los Castigues mí, Tu Boca, Corazón Apagao, Me Causa Pena, Sensacional, Yo Quiero Fiesta …), así como algunos clásicos modernos cubanos y colombianos (72 Hecheros, La Luna o Ya No HACE Falta por Bamboleo …). El estilo y la instrumentación van desde un tradicional cha-cha-cha a una timba caliente y pulsante o reggaeton.
  
Con un line-up de 6 a 12 músicos (cubanos, colombianos, italianos y británicos), todos considerados entre los mejores músicos latinos en Londres, la banda ha logrado crear una identidad propia y un sonido innovador que entrelaza “hijo” tradicional cubana, timba, mambo, samba, el flamenco y reggaeton. Es rápido, emocionante, romántico y eminentemente bailable.
  
Mezcla caliente de la banda de ritmos cubanos modernos y la presencia carismática de Jesús han atraído a un público entusiasta en la escena club de Londres y la garantía de obtener cualquier tipo de público y el baile.

  
JESÚS Cutino ha presentado en la música jazz o varios lugares del mundo, que incluyen Ronnie Scott (la banda tiene una residencia en la planta superior de Ronnie Scott), de Momo, nubes pasajeras, Charlie Wright International, Floridita, Jazz Cafe Posk y la Iglesia Empowering Nuevo.

También realizan regularmente por algunos de los mejores promotores de la música cubana y de las artes en el Reino Unido como la Cuba 50, Viva La Revolucion!, Cubacheche, Salsa Explosion o la Escuela Cubana de Artes. Extranjero que han realizado en Taiwán, España e Italia.
