The writer and journalist Jaime Sarusky Miller , National Literature Prize 2004 , died early Thursday in Havana , state television reported on the island was 82.
Sarusky (Havana, January 3, 1931) studied Social Sciences at the University of Havana . In 1954 he traveled to Paris to continue studies at the Sorbonne and take courses in Contemporary French Literature and Sociology .
Studied German in the former Federal Republic of Germany (FRG ) , where he began writing his novel “The Search ” , first published in Cuba in 1961.
In the sixties he worked on the island as editor and chief of Revolution newspaper rotogravure later was editor of La Gaceta de Cuba ( 1965 ) , head of the supplement and the cultural page of Granma ( 1967 ) and journalist of Bohemia ( 1971 ) . He also collaborated with Lunes de Revolución , Casa de las Americas and publications of the Soviet Union , France , the German Democratic Republic , Nicaragua , Mexico , Puerto Rico , Panama and Brazil .
Sarusky lectured in several countries on Cuban literature , also on Scandinavian emigration and the Hindu community on the Island
In the nineties visited several U.S. cities for cultural research , give lectures and invited by the Jewish Community Relations Council of San Francisco , California.
Cultural authorities have devoted Island in 2011 International Book Fair . Among other awards , he received the National Culture Distinction .

El escritor y periodista Jaime Sarusky Miller, Premio Nacional de Literatura 2004, murió en la madrugada de este jueves en La Habana, informó la televisión estatal de la Isla. Tenía 82 años.
Sarusky (La Habana, 3 de enero de 1931) estudió Ciencias Sociales en la Universidad de La Habana. En 1954 viajó a París para continuar estudios universitarios en La Sorbona y seguir cursos de Literatura Francesa Contemporánea y Sociología.
Estudió alemán en la antigua República Federal Alemana (RFA), donde comenzó a escribir su novela “La búsqueda”, publicada por primera vez en Cuba en 1961.
En los años sesenta trabajó en la Isla como redactor y jefe de rotograbado del periódico Revolución, posteriormente fue redactor de La Gaceta de Cuba (1965), jefe del suplemento y la página cultural de Granma (1967) y periodista de Bohemia (1971). También colaboró con Lunes de Revolución, Casa de las Américas y publicaciones de la Unión Soviética, Francia, la República Democrática de Alemania, Nicaragua, México, Puerto Rico, Panamá y Brasil.
Sarusky impartió conferencias en varios países sobre literatura cubana; asimismo, sobre la emigración escandinava y la comunidad hindú en la Isla.
En los años noventa visitó varias ciudades de Estados Unidos para realizar investigaciones culturales, impartir conferencias e invitado por el Jewish Community Relations Council de San Francisco, California.
Las autoridades culturales de la Isla le dedicaron en 2011 la Feria Internacional del Libro. Entre otros reconocimientos, recibió la Distinción por la Cultura Nacional.
