“We have found a very favorable public here in Spain and in Latin America the public is defender of their traditions. Yet in Cuba the situation is totally different, and it is imperative that we do a lot more effort to deliver this standard for the new generation”, said Alden Gonzalez, Cuban producer, now in a Spain tour.
The producer felt that, perhaps, is a “regional situation” within the Island
“In Oriente, from Camaguey to Guantanamo, the public is very sonero., However, it gives us the impression from Ciego de Avila to the rest of the island the situation is not, there is a kind of aversion or phobia of traditional music” said.

“Nos encontramos públicos muy favorables aquí en España, y en Latinoamérica el público es muy defensor de sus tradiciones. Sin embargo, en Cuba la situación es totalmente diferente, y se impone que hagamos mucho más esfuerzo para entregar este estandarte a las nuevas generaciones”, apuntó Alden González, Cuban producer, now in a Spain tour.
El productor consideró que, quizás, sea una “situación regional” dentro de la Isla.
“En Oriente, desde Camagüey a Guantánamo, el público es muy sonero. Sin embargo, nos da la impresión de que de Ciego de Ávila para allá la situación no es así, que hay una especie de aversión o de fobia a las músicas tradicionales”, dijo.
