Fue reportado hace ya varios días, tomando como fuente agencias nacionales, de la salida de Cuba del Pitcher estrella de Isla de la Juventud Raicel Iglesias, noticia que ha sido desmentida hoy por varias fuentes de agencias noticiosas y reportes privados desde la misma Isla de la Juventud desde donde trató el pelotero de escapar de la isla.
Segun las fuentes reportadas hoy a nivel nacional el Pitcher Cubano Raicel Iglesias tratando de salir del país en forma clandestina estuvo escondido en el monte hasta el jueves, cuando se vio obligado a salir por falta de agua y comida.
Las peores noticias sobre el pitcher Raicel Iglesias se confirmaron este sábado en Isla de la Juventud: “el pelotero está detenido desde el jueves”.
Tres fuentes, una en Miami y dos en Nueva Gerona, indicaron a DIARIO DE CUBA que Iglesias finalmente “no pudo abandonar el país” y está “detenido” en Isla de la Juventud.
El lanzador intentó escapar el pasado sábado, por la zona de Punta de Piedra, pero fracasó la operación. Estuvo escondido en el monte hasta el jueves, cuando se vio obligado a salir por falta de agua y comida.
“Eran varias personas, incluyendo a su hermano. Estaban deshidratados”, indicó el periodista independiente Lázaro Ricardo Pérez.
La noticia de su supuesta huida se divulgó el martes, cuando Iglesias aún estaba escondido en el monte, lo que facilitó su detención, explicó Pérez.
Una empleada de la Dirección de Deportes en Nueva Gerona confirmó la detención y dijo que “no volverá a entrenar más” con el equipo local.
El lanzador podría ser liberado el domingo, pero se desconoce si será llevado a juicio.
Iglesias, de 23 años, es uno de los máximos exponentes del pitcheo de relevo en el país y puntal del equipo pinero para el próximo campeonato nacional, que comienza el 3 de noviembre.
