Delivery of Josefa, the name of the 35,000-ton vessel, took place in the port of that city’s downtown east China, with the presence of representatives of the Asian country and Cuba.
Tiquan Gu, president of the board of the shipyards in Shanghai, said the “build quality” of these ships, which he said are the result of the “strong bonds of friendship and cooperation” between the two nations.
In turn, the Ambassador of Cuba in China, Alberto Blanco, referred to the strategic importance of building these ships for trade and economic relations and cooperation between the two states.
The Cuban diplomat acknowledged the professionalism and dedication of the team of Chinese builders and supervisors Cubans, who for three years actively participated in this project, which he said have a positive impact on the recovery of Cuba’s merchant fleet.

PEKING ENTREGA A LA HABANA EL ULTIMO DE LOS 10 BARCOS DESTINADOS A FLOTA PESQUERA CUBANA.
Pekín entregó al Gobierno cubano el último de 10 barcos graneleros construidos en los astilleros de Shanghai en un proyecto de tres años, informa la agencia estatal Prensa Latina.
La entrega del Josefa, el nombre de la embarcación de 35.000 toneladas, tuvo lugar en el puerto de esa ciudad del centro este de China, con la presencia de representantes de este país asiático y Cuba.
Gu Tiquan, presidente de la junta directiva de los astilleros de Shanghai, destacó la “calidad constructiva” de estos buques, que dijo son fruto de los “estrechos vínculos de amistad y cooperación” entre las dos naciones.
A su vez, el embajador de Cuba en China, Alberto Blanco, se refirió a la importancia estratégica de la construcción de estos buques para las relaciones económico-comerciales y de cooperación entre ambos Estados.
El diplomático cubano reconoció la profesionalidad y entrega del equipo de constructores chinos y supervisores cubanos, que durante tres años participaron activamente en este proyecto, que dijo incidirá positivamente en la recuperación de flota mercante de Cuba.
