Marius Viser , president of the International Judo Federation , visited the Island
President of the International Judo Federation Marius Viser expects the Grand Prix de La Habana ” promote judo and values between athletes and the Cuban people,” state media reported .
The venue was granted to Cuba ” by traditional success of their athletes and support our Federation ,” said the manager.
“Also I think that the Cuban judo has contributed to the development of this martial art , so we must now help in times of economic difficulties ,” he added .
The edition of the Grand Prix of Havana is scheduled from 6 to 8 June next , with the assistance of over 400 judokas from 130 countries , who will join as guests , some ministers of sports, world judo champion and former athletes.

SE CELEBRARÁ en la Habana el Gran Prix de Judo
Marius Viser, presidente de la Federación Internacional de Judo, visitó la Isla.
El presidente de la Federación Internacional de Judo, Marius Viser, espera que el Gran Prix de La Habana “promueva el judo y sus valores entre los atletas y el pueblo cubano”, informaron medios oficiales.
La sede del evento se otorgó a Cuba “por los tradicionales resultados de sus deportistas y el apoyo a nuestra Federación”, según el directivo.
“Además pienso que el judo cubano ha contribuido al desarrollo de este arte marcial, por lo cual debemos ayudar ahora en momentos de dificultades económicas”, agregó.
La edición del Gran Prix de La Habana está prevista del 6 al 8 de junio próximo, con la asistencia de más de 400 judocas de 130 países, a los que se unirán, como invitados, algunos ministros de deportes, campeones mundiales de judo y ex atletas.
