Ese servicio y otro de recarga de tarjetas de prepago a través de internet, estarán disponibles a partir de este martes, anuncia el monopolio estatal.
La estatal Empresa de Telecomunicaciones de Cuba (ETECSA), que tiene el monopolio de las comunicaciones en la Isla, anunció este lunes un servicio en internet para que los emigrados se encarguen de pagar las facturas telefónicas de sus familiares en la Isla.
La empresa anunció que desde este martes será posible realizar esa operación y la recarga de tarjetas prepago a través del sitio web www.ezetop.com, reportó el sitio oficial Cubadebate.
Estos servicios “podrán ser activados por familiares y amigos en el extranjero”, precisó la empresa. Ezetop, la única página en internet que por el momento permitirá esas operaciones, ofrece desde hace tiempo un servicio de recargas de teléfonos celulares de la Isla.
En cuanto a las facturas telefónicas, ETECSA dijo que, a través de la opción “Mi cuenta prepago” los emigrados podrán pagar gastos “en CUC a los usuarios residenciales que pagan el servicio telefónico en CUP y tienen facturas en CUC para otros servicios (como salida internacional, identificador de llamadas y número breve)”.
“Desde www.ezetop.com las recargas de servicios y pagos de facturas tienen un importe mínimo de 10.00 CUC y el interesado puede realizar tantas operaciones como desee”, añadió.
La empresa aclaró que desde Ezatop solo se podrán realizar operaciones en CUC (que el Gobierno equipara al dólar), y que los pagos a través de la página se podrán efectuar también dentro de la Isla, siempre que el usuario “tenga las tarjetas bancarias requeridas por ese sitio web”, que son VISA y MasterCard.
En un país con un salario medio que no supera los 20 CUC al mes, las tarifas de los servicios internacionales de telefonía son prohibitivos para la mayoría de los cubanos.
