Según medios norteamericanos, el contrato parece ser de cuatro años, aunque las condiciones financieras de la operación no fueron reveladas.
Díaz se incorporará el lunes a los entrenamientos de primavera del equipo.
El jugador, de 23 años, es muy versátil, capaz de jugar la segunda base y el campocorto.
En julio pasado, las Grandes Ligas lo habían declarado “inelegible” hasta el 19 de febrero de 2014 por presuntamente mentir sobre su fecha de nacimiento.
Díaz promedió .315, con 12 cuadrangulares y 11 bases robadas en 270 turnos al bate, en su última temporada (2012) jugando con Villa Clara en la Serie Nacional.

The Cardinals hired the Cuban infielder Aledmys Diaz, reported Sunday the major league team through the social network Twitter.

Diaz will join the Monday to spring training team .
The player , 23 , is very versatile, able to play second base and shortstop .
Last July , Major League Baseball had declared “ineligible ” until February 19, 2014 for allegedly lying about his date of birth.
