LOS COMUNISTAS CUBANOS DE AYER: EL PARTIDO SOCIALISTA POPULAR.

Melancólicos, vestidos pobremente. Jamás se les vio en los paseos del parque los sábados y domingos. Pertenecían a un grupo social excluyente, al partido que menos miembros tuvo desde sus inicios de fundado, en 1925. Abrazaban una ideología que rechazaba la mayoría de la población.

Por los años cuarenta todavía eran un puñado de hombres y mujeres, en su mayoría pertenecientes a la tercera edad que, pese a disfrutar de una sociedad libre, cometieron el error de creer y querer el comunismo.

Los recuerdo muy bien. Deambulaban por las calles de Camajuaní, mi pueblo natal villaclareño.

Pertenecían a un grupo social excluyente, al partido que menos miembros tuvo desde sus inicios de fundado, en 1925.

El exilio está plagado de muchos de aquellos comunistas. Otros han muerto en sus casas, completamente olvidados. Incluso los hijos de dos grandes dirigentes, Jesús Menéndez, asesinado en 1948 y Blas Roca, Secretario General del Partido, pertenecen a organizaciones pacíficas de la Oposición y son reprimidos por orden de Fidel Castro.

Prestigiosos intelectuales y líderes sindicales de tendencia marxista-leninista que marcharon a Estados Unidos, han señalado, en esencia, que Fidel Castro sólo ha logrado gobernar mal y que jamás quiso poner en práctica lo planteado en Los fundamentos del Socialismo en Cuba, libro escrito en 1943 por Blas Roca y que servía para capacitar a los obreros y campesinos que ingresaban al Partido Comunista: medidas a tomar para resolver el problema de la miseria, de la vivienda, de la tierra, de la industria, del desempleo y lograr un desarrollo económico sin crisis, mediante el respeto a la propiedad de pequeños propietarios y el reforzamiento a los capitalistas nacionales.

¿Quiere decir esto que los comunistas de ayer se sintieron culpables cuando vieron por primera vez en Cuba los mercados vacíos, las cárceles multiplicadas y abarrotadas de presos políticos, una dependencia absoluta al Imperio Soviético, el hambre más repartida que antes y castrados los derechos civiles?

El 28 de enero de 1968, a los nueve años de Revolución, ya no quedaba nada del viejo Partido Comunista. Hasta los líderes más queridos por la clase trabajadora, Joaquín Ordoqui, Aníbal Escalante y muchos otros, se habían convertido en fantasmas dentro de sus propias casas, tildados de microfraccionarios enemigos de la Revolución.

¿Fue entonces que con sus propios ojos, los viejos comunistas descubrieron el engañoso acto sexual que ocurría entre Fidel Castro y las ingenuas e ignorantes masas cubanas, un acto sexual fabricado por sus órganos de propaganda, precisamente para que el responsable del desastre económico que ha sufrido Cuba gracias a sus caprichos, no fuera analizado por esas masas?

Ahondar y aclarar la trágica y controvertida historia de los comunistas de ayer con relación a la dictadura actual, es tarea difícil. Aunque las variantes son muchas, llama la atención cuando se dice que dejaron de apoyar a Fidel Castro porque vieron que éste se engullía la democracia, que las injusticias sociales continuaban y que su ideología, no era la misma con la que ellos habían soñado.

Pero, ¿alguna vez analizaron que el gran inspirador de todos ellos, José Stalin, fue peor que el dictador caribeño? ¿Alguna vez han aceptado que se equivocaron en haber creído en el Comunismo y que sobre todo, al final de la jornada, todos de una manera o de otra, han pagado muy caro su error?
