ECUADOR QUIERE AYUDA DE CUBA EN SU PLAN “PARA EL BUEN VIVIR”.
El vicepresidente de Ecuador, Jorge Glas Espinel, llegó este martes a Cuba para realizar su primera visita oficial, durante la cual serán evaluados convenios de cooperación bilaterales en diversas áreas, según informaron medios locales, reporta EFE.
“Ecuador está inmerso en una estrategia de industrialización para el ‘Buen Vivir’ y en este camino espera contar con la colaboración de Cuba”, declaró Glas Espinel al inicio de su primer viaje a la Isla.
El vicepresidente ecuatoriano dijo que es de su interés analizar posibles convenios de intercambio en cuanto a industria farmacéutica, desarrollo de la biotecnología y avances en ciencia y tecnología, además de otros sectores como el agropecuario y el de producción de alimentos.
Resaltó la voluntad de La Habana de intercambiar sus “conocimientos” con Ecuador, “la misma disposición que existe de nuestra parte”, dijo.
Durante su estancia en La Habana, que se extenderá hasta el próximo jueves, se reunirá con varios funcionarios del Gobierno cubano y recorrerá centros de investigación, entre otras actividades.
Cuba y Ecuador cooperan fundamentalmente en los sectores de salud, educación, agricultura, deporte y energía.
Los últimos acuerdos firmados entre ambos países incluyen también la colaboración con técnicos del nivel de atención primaria de salud, epidemiología y fisiatría.
Actualmente, prestan servicios de colaboración en Ecuador 229 médicos cubanos, 40 de ellos en la llamada Operación Milagro, para restablecer la visión a personas de bajos ingresos, y 189 de Servicios Médicos de Salud.
En la Isla cursan carreras universitarias 313 becarios ecuatorianos, de los cuales 273 lo hacen en especialidades de la salud, mientras que 803 médicos han realizado postgrados en 17 especialidades.

ECUADOR WANTS HELP FROM CUBA IN ITS PLAN “FOR A GOOD LIVING.”
Ecuador Vice President, Jorge Glas Espinel, arrived Tuesday to Cuba to make his first official visit, during which they will be evaluated bilateral cooperation agreements in several areas, according to local media reports EFE.
“Ecuador is undergoing an industrialization strategy for the ‘Good Life’ and in this way hopes to have the cooperation of Cuba,” said Glas Espinel at the start of his first trip to the island.
Ecuadorian Vice President said it is of interest to analyze possible exchange agreements as to pharmaceutical, biotechnology development and advances in science and technology, and other sectors such as agriculture and food production.
I highlighted the willingness of Havana to exchange their “knowledge” with Ecuador, “the same arrangement that exists on our part,” he said.
During his stay in Havana, which will run until next Thursday, will meet with officials of the Cuban government and tour research centers, among other activities.
Cuba and Ecuador cooperate mainly in the sectors of health, education, agriculture, sports and energy.
The latest agreements signed between the two countries also include working with technical levels of primary health care, epidemiology and physiatry.
