El pelotero cienfueguero Carlos Orlando León abandonó ilegalmente la Isla, informó en su blog la periodista oficialista Darilys Reyes Sánchez, del periódico 5 de Septiembre.
“Como ya se ha hecho ‘habitual’ por estos lares, por desgracia, otras ausencias vienen a golpear la nómina sureña, una de ellas en detrimento del Sub-23 por la salida ilegal del país del prometedor campo corto Carlos Orlando León”, escribió Reyes Sánchez.
“Pero como las desgracias no vienen solas, por igual concepto también abandonó el entrenamiento de la preselección de mayores Darián González González, una pieza valiosísima en el infield de los verdinegros”, añadió, al parecer refiriéndose a otra fuga.
Se quejó de las numerosas bajas que, por diferentes motivos, ha sufrido en los últimos tiempos la selección de Cienfuegos. “Ya las cifras de pérdidas rondan la quincena”, dijo y calificó la situación de “lastimera”.
“Y ya la interrogante popular no adorna el ensañamiento con los Elefantes de Cienfuegos, sino cuestiona el posible término: porque esto, más que el pasatiempo nacional, parece una parada de guaguas”, señaló.
Ambos peloteros integraron la nómina cienfueguera en la pasada Serie Nacional de Béisbol.
Reyes Sánchez señaló que las salidas ilegales han desmembrado “lenta y dolorosamente” al equipo local, uno de los más afectados por las fugas.
“A la mano queda bastante poco, poquísimo y nada seguro, en honor a la verdad”, reconoció.
Varios exjugadores de Cienfuegos brillan actualmente en equipos de las Grandes Ligas. Entre ellos Yasiel Puig, de los Dodgers de los Ángeles, y José Dariel Abreu, quien en su espectacular temporada de debut con los Medias Blancas de Chicago es líder en jonrones, con 31.
