Ana Cristina Álvarez (born June 2, 1985) Ana Cristina, is a Cuban American singer-songwriter.
Ana was born in Miami, Florida, United States and is of Cuban descent and of Spanish, English and Italian ancestry. Ana Cristina showed exceptional talent at a very young age.
Ana Cristina has worked with several Grammy award winning music producers throughout her career and was signed by Sony Music at the age of 15 where she first began recording music in the Spanish language including the likes of Emilio Estefan Jr., Rudy Perez, and Kike Santander.
She is known for her bluesy contralto vocals and rare “Whistle Register”. Ana writes songs in the Pop/Soul genre with the help of the guitar and piano. Her hazel eyes allude to a certain mystery that is present in the lyrics of her songs, which she admits to being autobiographical in nature. She cites a broad range of influences including great jazz singers Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughn, to urban social consciousness of hip-hop music of today, and gravitates towards darker cinematic sounds and bountiful use of harmonies. Ana Cristina commands the stage with her strong vocal prowess and her retro inspired look that is present both in her music as well has her image.
She debuted in a local TV show, Sábado Gigante at the age of 6 and taped shows regularly on the international hit show until the age of 14.At the age of 15 she signed to the Latin division of Sony Music and released records in the Spanish Language. She is also a former Miss South Florida USA 2011. She is also currently represented by Elite Model Management.
On January 20, 2005, Ana Cristina became the very first Hispanic person to sing The Star Spangled Banner at a Presidential Inauguration. The following year, on October 6, she performed three songs in a private show at the White House in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month.
In 2006 to perform at the White House where she serenaded the President of the United States, the Crowned Prince of Spain and notable world ambassadors in the East Room with her potent voice. That same year, she recorded the theme song for the World Cup Germany 2006 for the Univision Network titled “You Can Change the World” and its bilingual counterpart “El Mundo Puedes Cambiar”.
Ana’s charisma and incredible passion for life are what define her personality. Her new EP, “Porcelain Doll” is a collection of six songs that encompass several different facets of relationships. The single of the EP, “Porcelain Doll” is an empowering and sassy anthem about independence and was written entirely by Ana Cristina and produced by Chris Price. Other songs on the EP include “Rebound”, “It Could Happen To You” “Poison” “Let It Rain”and “Dangerous Thing” . “Dangerous Thing” is co-written by Ana Cristina and Mika Krstic and is produced by Mika as well.

Upon moving to Los Angeles from Miami in 2010 and going through a myriad of life experiences, Ana Cristina soaked up the LA music scene and her musical style morphed into what it is today. Having a deep affinity for writing poetry since an early age, Ana is a storyteller that paints a picture of emotions, personal stories about love, life and betrayal with unmistakable precision. Ana Cristina currently resides in Los Angeles.
