DEVUELVEN A LA IGLESIA CATÓLICA EN CUBA UNA DOCENA DE SUS PROPIEDADES.
El régimen ha devuelto una docena de propiedades a la Iglesia Católica, entre las cuales está la capilla de la antigua Universidad de Santo Tomás de Villanueva, ubicada en el barrio de Miramar. Según informó este martes la agencia AP, el Gobierno está devolviendo desde 2009, en un “proceso silencioso” las propiedades religiosas.
La agencia AP señala que el ‘silencioso’ proceso de devolución se remonta a 2009 y que seguirá de forma ‘gradual’.
Según la agencia, las autoridades han iniciado “la restitución a sus antiguos propietarios de templos, casas parroquiales, terrenos y edificios que fueron tomados por el Gobierno al triunfo de la Revolución”.
“Es un gesto de parte de las autoridades muy positivo, de alguna manera restituir lo que pertenece a la iglesia y sobre todo en el ámbito local donde esto ocurre crea un ambiente de confianza”, dijo el padre José Félix Pérez, secretario adjunto de la Conferencia de obispos católicos de Cuba. “Está ocurriendo, hay que señalarlo, gradualmente”.

RETURN TO THE CATHOLIC CHURCH IN CUBA A DOZEN OF THEIR PROPERTIES.
The regime has returned a dozen properties to the Catholic Church, among which is the chapel of the former University of Santo Tomas de Villanueva, located in the Miramar neighborhood. As reported by the Associated Press Tuesday, the government is returning from 2009, in a “silent process” religious properties.
The AP notes that the ‘silent’ return process dates back to 2009 and will continue in a ‘gradual’.
According to the agency, the authorities have launched “restitution to former owners of churches, parish houses, land and buildings that were taken by the Government to the triumph of the Revolution.”
“It’s a gesture on the part of the authorities very positive, somehow restore what belongs to the church and especially at the local level where this happens creates an environment of trust,” Father Jose Felix Perez, assistant secretary of said Conference of Catholic Bishops of Cuba. “It’s happening, should be noted, gradually”.
