El diario cubano Trabajadores en un artículo publicado por Manuel Yepe elogio a una terrorista buscada por Estados Unidos que se encuentra exiliada en Cuba y es requerida por la justicia estadounidense. Desde que se anunció el posible restablecimiento de las relaciones entre Cuba y Estados Unidos varios han pedido la extradición de Joanne Chesimard quien está entre 10 terroristas más buscados por la Oficina Federal de Investigaciones, FBI, Cuba respondió dedicándole un editorial en el diario Trabajadores.

“Fui acusada falsamente en seis diferentes “casos criminales” y en los seis casos, al cabo del tiempo, fui absuelta o los cargos descartados porque las pruebas presentadas contra mí eran tan endebles y falsas que mi inocencia se hizo evidente” dijo el articulo citando a Joanne Chesimard.
“En 1979, temiendo que pudiera yo ser asesinada en la cárcel y sabiendo que nunca recibiría justicia, fui liberada de la prisión con la ayuda de un comprometido grupo de compañeros que entendían la profundidad de las injusticias en mi caso,” dijo Joanne Chesimard. “Yo soy sólo una mujer. No soy dueña de estaciones de televisión ni de radio, o de periódicos. Pero siento que las personas necesitan entender lo que está pasando y conocer la conexión que existe entre los medios y los instrumentos de represión en EEUU. Como no tenemos voz, ustedes deben ser la voz de los sin voz” continuo la prófuga de la justicia estadounidense.
