El presidente del Congreso, Jesús Posada, ha precisado este jueves que el viaje de una delegación parlamentaria a Cuba que podría tener lugar el próximo mes de septiembre bajo su presidencia se circunscribe al ámbito parlamentario, pero no ha descartado la posibilidad de que se aproveche también para tener contactos “con más gente”, como podrían ser miembros de la oposición.

El presidente ha confirmado que su intención es viajar acompañado de “un número considerable” de miembros de la Mesa del Congreso y que quiere porque lo considera “positivo” que la delegación sea “plural”, es decir, que se integren también en la misma portavoces de distintos grupos. Fuentes parlamentarias han señalado a Europa Press que uno de los que tendría plaza segura es el portavoz de la Izquierda Plural, José Luis Centella, que es también secretario general del PCE.
Posada ha explicado que la visita que se está planeando tiene como objetivo responder a una invitación del presidente del Parlamento cubano y que, a su juicio, esta visita “al máximo nivel” sería “oportuna y conveniente” y contribuiría a estrechar las relaciones entre los pueblos cubano y español.
El posible viaje a Cuba ha sido criticado por uno de los miembros de la Mesa del Congreso, el secretario cuarto, Teófilo de Luis, del PP, quien lo ha tildado de inoportuno” y ha dejado claro que no participará en él si el Gobierno de Raúl Castro no le permite reunirse en la isla de manera pública, “no clandestina”, con los disidentes que él quiera.

De Luis, quien ha ejercido durante toda la legislatura como portavoz de su grupo en los asuntos relacionados con la isla, considera que en plena negociación de la UE con la isla para normalizar relaciones y en un momento en que el castrismo no ha hecho ningún gesto de apertura significativo “no toca que España se aproxime a Cuba en lo político” porque el desplazamiento de Posada, tercera autoridad del Estado, será “utilizado por la dictadura”.
Según ha explicado a Europa Press, está convencido de que los preparativos de este desplazamiento son consecuencia de la presión ejercida por empresas españolas interesadas en hacer negocio en la isla, ante la perspectiva de que el deshielo con EEUU despierte el apetito inversor por Cuba. “Pero a mí no me pagan los contribuyentes españoles para que mejore la cuenta de resultados de empresas españolas”, ha avisado.
