La aerolínea alemana Condor incrementará sus conexiones de vuelo a Cuba a partir del próximo invierno, lo que permitirá a Alemania mantenerse como uno de los primeros mercados emisores de viajeros a la isla, informaron ayer medios locales.
Condor incorporará como nueva ruta que unirá una vez a la semana las ciudades de Holguín (este de Cuba) y Múnich; además de incrementar a cuatro frecuencias semanales los vuelos entre La Habana y Fráncfort y añadir una operación a la conexión Varadero-Múnich, según indicó el Ministerio de Turismo.
En 2014, la nación europea ocupó nuevamente el segundo puesto entre los países de mayor emisión a Cuba —después de Canadá—, con más de 136,000 turistas, un 20 % más que el año anterior.
En las últimas semanas también se ha dado a conocer que China y Cuba están ultimando los detalles para que la aerolínea Air China conecte con un vuelo directo Pekín y La Habana, a partir de septiembre.
La aerolínea asiática anunció hace varios meses su intención de iniciar estos vuelos a partir del 28 de septiembre con tres frecuencias semanales y una parada técnica para repostar en Montreal (Canadá).
Aunque aún representan una pequeña cuota del turismo internacional que llega a Cuba, los viajes desde China a la isla superaron los 28,000 en 2014, con un crecimiento anual del 27%.
La ruta Pekín-La Habana será la primera conexión directa del país asiático con el Caribe y abre la perspectiva de que Cuba se convierta en punto de conexión de los viajeros chinos hacia otros países de Latinoamérica.
