La cubana Driulis González entró el sábado en el Salón Internacional de la Fama de Judo, informa el diario oficial Granma. Es la única mujer latinoamericana en esa lista y la segunda representante de Cuba, tras la exaltación hace dos años de Héctor Rodríguez.
Cuatro veces medallista olímpica (1992-bronce, 1996-oro, 2000-plata y 2004-bronce) y tricampeona mundial (1995, 1999 y 2007), la guantanamera integró el equipo nacional cubano durante 20 años.
“No se me subirá nunca la fama a la cabeza, sigo siendo la misma Driulis de siempre, solo un poco más emocionada”, dijo González tras la ceremonia en el Palacio de Hielo Alau, en Astaná (Kazajstán), donde este lunes comienza el Mundial de Judo.
