“CARNIVAL CRUISES” ANNOUNCES OTHER TRAVEL NEWS TO CUBA.
With its Cruise Line “Fathom” Carnival Cruises reveals new details on travel to Cuba. The program will be different from Dominican Republic, and could include three cities as destinations on the island.
Fathom, the new cruise line with which Carnival Corp. plans to start your trip to Cuba in 2016, revealed new details about the itinerary covering on the island. The president of Fathom, Tara Russell announced that the program will focus on Cuba Havana, Cienfuegos and Santiago de Cuba.
In an announcement from the construction site of the new private port “Amber Cove” in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, Russell added that cultural immersion, including art and film, can be a major focus in the island, activities during these trips will focus not so much on the “Voluntourism” (pun between volunteering and tourism) as those who plan to start in April 2016 in the Dominican Republic.
Fathom’s first trip depart from Miami with 700 passengers on board the ship Adonia, 1st. May 2016. Thereafter, the line alternate cruises from Miami to “Amber Cove” to travel from Miami to Cuba.
In the Fathom website dedicated to Cuba, the company announced the sale of tickets “for cultural exchange travel” from $ 1,800 with a $ 600 deposit. The price does not include the cost of the visa, port charges, taxes and fees.
The company has since last July the US permission to operate in Cuba, but still awaits approval from the island. In this regard, Russell said that negotiations progress, showing optimistic.
