CJ Ramone, former bassist of “The Ramones” Debuts in Cuba.
“CJ Ramone”, former bassist of the legendary punk rock band Ramones, said today in Havana to be a “unique experience” his first performance in Cuba, where he will be one of the foreign guests of the Festival of Arts and Culture ” Habanarte “.

“CJ Ramone”, ex bajista de la mítica banda de rock punk Ramones, dijo hoy en La Habana que será una “experiencia única” su primera actuación en Cuba, donde será uno de los invitados extranjeros del Festival de las Artes y la Cultura “Habanarte”.
“Soy fanático de (el escritor) Ernest Hemingway y estar aquí, en un país (Cuba) que él tanto amó y consideró su hogar, es para mí extraordinario”, declaró el músico, cuyo verdadero nombre es Christopher Joseph Ward.
Dos conciertos programados para los próximos 12 y 13 de este mes, marcarán el debut de la banda que lidera, la primera de músicos estadounidenses que actúa en la isla tras el restablecimiento de las relaciones diplomáticas entre Cuba y Estados Unidos, concretado con la apertura de sus respectivas embajadas el pasado 20 de julio.
“CJ” y el grupo musical que le acompañará, integrado por Dave Soto y Dan Root, guitarristas del grupo pionero del punk californiano The Adolescents, y el baterista John Frochaux, llegan a la isla en la nueva etapa que ha abierto el “deshielo” diplomático entre Cuba y Estados Unidos.
En sus presentaciones, el músico neoyorquino compartirá escenario con las bandas cubanas Zeus y Tendencia, junto a las que interpretarán temas emblemáticos de los Ramones, así como algunos temas de los álbumes grabados por “CJ” en solitario, “Reconquista” y “Last Chance to Dance”.
