The Cuban government has formally invited into its market to Spanish companies Seat and Roca, reported Monday the newspaper El Mundo.
According to the Spanish newspaper, the Government requested in writing to the Spanish authorities with representatives of both companies to “facilitate its implementation in the island.”

El Gobierno cubano ha invitado formalmente a entrar en su mercado a las empresas españolas Seat y Roca, informa este lunes el diario El Mundo.
Según el periódico español, el Gobierno solicitó por escrito a las autoridades españolas encuentros con representantes de ambas empresas para “facilitarles su implantación en la Isla”.

La vinculación de Seat con el grupo Volkswagen, del que es filial, no parece haber afectado, pese al escándalo protagonizado por la empresa alemana, al interés del Gobierno por atraer la inversión de la española, algo que el periódico atribuye a la “imperiosa necesidad” de renovar el parque de vehículos en la Isla. Luca di Meo, antes responsable de Ventas y Marketing de Audi, será el encargado de formar la delegación técnica de Seat para negociar con el Gobierno.
Los contactos con Roca, por su parte, se atribuyen a la necesidad de rehabilitar viviendas y hoteles. La empresa es líder en productos de sanitarios y baños.
El objetivo del Gobierno, siempre según El Mundo, es impulsar que Seat invierta en una cadena de montaje y Roca en una fábrica en la Zona Especial de Desarrollo Mariel (ZEDM).
El próximo noviembre, los ministros de Economía e Industria de España visitarán Cuba coincidiendo con la Feria Internacional de La Habana, que arranca el 2 de noviembre, y en la que tendrán presencia al menos 200 empresas españolas.
La visita servirá, además de para la renegociación de la deuda de Cuba con España, para impulsar la presencia de compañías españolas en la Isla. Los empresarios españoles no quieren perder el terreno ganado durante estos años frente a las empresas norteamericanas que buscan entrar en la Isla aprovechando las flexibilizaciones que se han producido tras el deshielo. Además, el cambio en las relaciones con EE UU y las necesidades del Gobierno de buscar inversores extranjeros han abierto la puerta a que muchos países luchen por entrar en un mercado repleto de necesidades como es el cubano.
