Singer and “bolerista” Feeling style, pianist, teacher. She was born in Havana, Cuba and began studying piano at age five with Maria Antonia del Valle.
In 1954 she graduated from the National Conservatory of Havana, receiving the Medal of Gold, Silver and Bronze Mayor Habanera. She had among his teachers Jorge Ackermann, Jose Ardevol, Harold Gramatges and Paquito Huerta.
It began in 1957 with Intermezzo Club duo “Renée and Nelia” and then went to Tropic Ranch and piano bar Tropicana Casino. She also worked in Montmartre and Sans Souci.
She participated with the initiators of the “Movement of Feeling”, including Cesar Portillo de la Luz, José Antonio Mendez, Aida Right and member of the quartet, etc. In 1960 he left Cuba for Venezuela in search of freedom, and a year later debuted solo in Puerto Rico where she established himself as the best interpreter of “feeling” inaugurating the “Club Caribar” Hotel Caribe Hilton.
In their presentations she was admired by great song that have been fellow scene as Nat King Cole, Marlene Dietrich, Sammy Davis, Jr., Liberace, Sarah Vaughan and many others who had met in Cuba.
In 1963 and 1972 she sang with the great masters Mario Ruiz Armengol Jose Sabre Marroquin, Vicente Garrido, Luis Demetrio Alvaro Carrillo and the great Roberto Cantoral (clock, Barca, The Sad and others).
She has represented Puerto Rico in numerous song festivals, winning numerous awards including the “Voice of the Centenario” Placido Acevedo and in 2005 the prize Luis A. Ferre, the Mayor, one of the most important awards in Puerto Rico.
She has taught singing at Miami-Dade College, Canto Popular, Prometheus and teachers of the “Objetivo Fama”.

Cantante bolerista estilo filin, pianista, profesora. Nació en La Habana, Cuba y comenzó a estudiar piano a los cinco años con María Antonia del Valle.
En 1954 se graduó del Conservatorio Nacional de La Habana, recibiendo La Medalla de Oro, Plata y Bronce de la Alcaldía Habanera. Tuvo entre sus maestros a Jorge Ackerman, José Ardevol, Harold Gramatges y Paquito Huerta.
Comenzó en el Club Intermezzo en 1957 con el dúo de “Renée y Nelia” y luego pasó al Tropic Ranch y al piano bar del casino de Tropicana. También trabajó en Montmartre y Sans Souci.
Participó con los iniciadores del “Movimiento del Feeling”, entre ellos Cesar Portillo de la Luz, José Antonio Méndez, Aida Diestro y las miembro de cuarteto, etc. En 1960 salió de Cuba para Venezuela en busca de libertad, y un año después debutó como solista en Puerto Rico donde se consagró como la mejor intérprete del “feeling” inaugurando el “Club Caribar” del Hotel Caribe Hilton.
En sus presentaciones fue admirada por grandes de la canción que han sido sus compañeros de escena como Nat King Cole, Marlene Dietrich, Sammy Davis, Jr., Liberace, Sara Vaughan y muchos otros que ya había conocido en Cuba.
En 1963 y 1972 cantó con los grandes maestros Mario Ruíz Armengol, José Sabre Marroquín, Vicente Garrido, Luís Demetrio, Álvaro Carrillo y el gran Roberto Cantoral (El Reloj, La Barca, El Triste y otros).
Ha representado a Puerto Rico en numerosos festivales de canciones, ganando numerosos premios entre ellos, la “Voz del Centenario” Placido Acevedo y en el 2005 el premio Luis A. Ferré, de la Alcaldía, uno de los premios más importantes de Puerto Rico.
Ha sido profesora de canto del Miami-Dade College, del Canto Popular, de Prometeo y del profesorado del programa “Objetivo Fama”.
