El Presidente de los Estados Unidos, Barack Obama, será el primer mandatario de ese país que en los últimos 88 años visite la isla de Cuba. El hecho histórico se producirá el 21 de marzo.
Dos semanas atrás, en la isla se reunieron el papa Francisco con su par de la iglesia cristiana ortodoxa rusa, el patriarca Kirill. Así pusieron fin a un distanciamiento que duró casi un milenio, entre ambas ramas del cristianismo.
Cuba parece una zona franca para la mediación, la reconciliación, el acercamiento de posiciones y la demorada y muy esperada apertura. No sólo en términos políticos. Mientras que en la época de la revolución de Fidel Castro la música en inglés podía ser una mala palabra, con los años, las nuevas generaciones la fueron incorporando de manera espontánea. Hasta el punto que la noticia musical de la semana fue el avance de la negociación para la llegada de The Rolling Stones a la isla. Por primera vez, la banda daría un concierto en Cuba.
