The protagonist of this story will be a Cuban actress, whose name Zheng Dawei, director did not disclose, but said that the character will salsa teacher Juan Gomez, brother of musician Jorge Gómez (director of Moncada group). The film will also feature a large group of Cuban actors.
Zheng said that “Amores in Havana” China will be the first movie filmed in Cuba and Latin America.

En los próximos días comenzarán a rodarse en Cuba la primera pelicula china filmada casi en su totalidad en los escenarios de la isla caribeña.
Con el nombre escogido como “Amores en La Habana” por su director Dawei Zheng quien también es el guionista de la cinta. Según Zheng lleva dos meses trabajando en la Habana en la preparacion del film que debe arrancar a fines de este mes o principios de mayo. Además aclaró que el 85 por ciento de la trama se desarrolla en la isla caribeña, mientras una pequeña parte transcurrirá en China.
La historia cuenta del amor de un estudiante chino que viene a La Habana a aprender Español. Aquí conoce a María, una chica taxista y ambos se enamoran, dice Zheng, pero esta relación sufrirá de grandes contradicciones y obstáculos. “Sin embargo habrá un final feliz, alegre”.
El realizador asiático señaló que si bien el filme no es un musical puramente sí tiene una fuerte carga de música y baile que identifican a Cuba, como la salsa, el casino, con fuerte arraigo en la isla.
La protagonista de esta historia será una actriz cubana, cuyo nombre Dawei Zheng, su director no reveló, pero sí adelantó que el personaje del profesor de salsa será Juan Gómez, hermano del músico Jorge Gómez (director del grupo Moncada). El film contará además con un numeroso grupo de actores cubanos.
Zheng aseguró que “Amores en la Habana” será la primera pelicula China filmada en Cuba y en Latinoamérica.
