Carnival Fathom and Ponant are, so far, the two companies that have received the approval of both countries for cruises from United States to Cuba with American travelers, says Cuba Journal.

Carnival Fathom has scheduled his first trip for May 1. From the port of Miami, the cruise will visit seven days the ports of Havana, Cienfuegos and Santiago de Cuba.Ponant, French luxury yacht company, will start their cruises to Cuba from 2017.

MSC Opera, with 2,120 passengers coming out of the port of La Habana this winter season 2015-2016, with 16 cruises bound for the Caribbean region.

A second boat, MSC harmony, will leave Cuba starting in November 2016 to operate during the winter.

Star Clipper Cruises. This British company opera Star-Clipper ship, 170 passengers and visit the ports of Havana, Cienfuegos and St. Maarten.

Fred Olsen Cruise Lines. British company that departs from Barbados and visit Cuba and other countries in the Caribe.

Thomson Cruises. British company that leaves from Montego Bay, Jamaica, and visit Cuba and other countries in the Caribe.

Voyages of Discovery. British company that specializes in tours of small boats that leave from Cozumel to Barbados.

Others companies authorised to carry citizens from ports outside United States son:

Cuba Cruise. Canadian company that performs cruises from Havana to Montego Bay, Jamaica.

International Expeditions. U.S. company that operates cruises within the programme people-to-people, from the port of Havana and Cienfuegos with a Greek-registered MV.

Celestyal Cruises. Company based in Cyprus; during the winter season comes out every Monday from Havana and every Friday from Montego Bay. This is the third year of operations of Celestyal Cruises in Cuba and the first in which accepts as travelers and U.S. citizens.

Cuba Journal, quoted two companies who have requested permission from the authorities of the United States and Cuba for cruise trips to the isla:

Pearl Seas Cruises. This company had already sold travel to Cuba leaving from the port of Fort Lauderdale, but had to cancel her first cruise to the island because it is still pending approval from the Cuban Government.

Halmark. After requesting approval for its cruises to Cuba, is company declared bankruptcy at the end of last year, because of insurance claims, and canceled its operations in North America. Halmark has been bought by a venture capital firm and some reports suggest that the new Administration maintains its interest in obtaining permission from cruises to Cuba.

Coinciding with the easing of the Americans travel to Cuba, the cruise industry has seen a rise in its shares during the month of March, according to a report published this week on the website The Motley Foole specializing in the stock market.

Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd, accumulated a rise of 12.54%, followed by Carnival Cruise Lines with a 10.46% and Royal Caribbean, with a 10.03%.
