CUBA PAYS TRIBUTE TO DON PEDRO VARGAS.
The singer and Mexican actor Pedro Vargas will always be in the memory of all the Cubans who honored him in life and then have kept their memories and the days that I dedicate to our homeland to which the wanted long and triumph. Cuba is celebrated every year with the memories of those days when his figure appeared in public media and was hailed with delirium by the population, who was also his people. Vargas, known as “The Nightingale of the Americas”, traveled for the first time to Cuba in 1933 and his countless visits was staying at the National Hotel in Havana, which Thursday opened with his name a suite, where he stayed on several occasions.

Pedro Vargas was born on April 29, 1906, in the State of Guanajuato, Mexico. El cantante y actor mexicano Pedro Vargas siempre estará en la memoria de todos los cubanos que lo homenajearon en vida y despues han guardado sus recuerdos y los dias que dedico a nuestra patria a la que el quizo mucho y triunfo. En Cuba se celebra cada año un recordatorio de esos días cuando su figura aparecía en los medios públicos y era aclamado con delirio por la población, que también era su pueblo. Entre esos homenajes y activas conmemorativas están galas artísticas y hace algunos meses se presentó el libro “Pedro Vargas: 100 Años de música”.
También en los Festivales de Boleros que se realizan en Cuba se le brindan múltiples homenajes al cantante mexicano Pedro Vargas.
Vargas, conocido como “El ruiseñor de las Américas”, viajó por primera vez a Cuba en 1933 y en sus incontables visitas se hospedaba en el Hotel Nacional de La Habana, que este jueves inauguró con su nombre una suite, donde se alojó en repetidas ocasiones.
“Mi padre adoró Cuba, se hospedó en este hotel muchas veces y sé que este hotel atesora la memoria de todos los artistas del mundo que han pasado por aquí”, dijo Pedro Vargas (hijo) a periodistas, quien estuvo acompañado por su hermano Marcelo, un nieto y bisnietos del cantante.
De su parte, Marcelo Vargas afirmó que estar en la isla “es realmente regresar a un segundo hogar (…) todos nosotros vivimos alguna parte de nuestra vida en Cuba. Entonces para nosotros regresar a Cuba es muy importante”.
En años anteriores entre las otras actividades conmemorativas, se encontraron la presentación de ese dedicado libro “Pedro Vargas. 100 años de música”, en el Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, y una placa que fue develada en el famoso cabaret habanero “Tropicana”, donde el cantante se presentó varias veces.
