CUBAN FILM COMPANY ‘ICAIC’ WILL OFFER NEW CINEMATOGRAPHIC SERVICE TO HOLLYWOOD.
The production company Audiovisuales ICAIC, part of the Cuban State, will provide a new film service to Hollywood. American Saga”Transformers” will be filmed in Cuba.
“Transformers” is a series of action movies and American science fiction directed by Michael Bay, and based on the toys created by Tomy and Hasbro companies.
The successful “Transformers” Hollywood saga will roll this weekend part of his new film in Havana, a scenario that has recently served as a dish for the eighth delivery of “Fast and Furious”, announced this week, the official daily Granma.
The main newspaper of the island ahead of the filming of the fifth tape starring the famous “autobots” will be “a new film service to foreign production” of the audiovisual ICAIC productora, belonging to the State Cuban Institute of art and cinematographic industry (ICAIC).
The note also reports that, unlike many streets cuts caused by the filming of “Fast and Furious”, scenes from “Transformers” will be made by a small film crew and not require closing of streets, so it should not cause interruptions in the normal life of the city.
“The scenes shot in the capital, specifically in the area of the waterfront and old Havana, will be part of a montage of shots in big cities of the world, which in post-production will be added digitally robots to show how life on Earth have joined”, indicates the note of the ICAIC reported in Granma.
The journal also recalls that “the foreign production services are part of the regular work of the institution and aim to enter foreign currency for the National Theater and increase employment opportunities for Cuban artists and technicians”.
The first film in the saga “Transformers” premiered in 2007 and the fifth is scheduled for 2017. Since the beginning of the “thaw”, at the end of 2014, Cuba has become in dish of choice for the industry of cinema and television in USA.
Last January, the hit television series American “House of Lies”, preceded by other programs as a humorous space night was filmed in Havana “Late Night with Conan O’ Brien” and the documentary series “Cuban Chrome”, “almond”, transformed into symbols of the Caribbean island about American vintage cars.
At the beginning of the month concluded the filming of the eighth film in the saga “Fast and Furious”, a never-before-seen blockbuster in Cuba that altered the routine of Havana with unusual traffic jams in the city, and groups of onlookers attracted by the technology deployment for two weeks.

La productora Audiovisuales ICAIC, parte del Estado cubano, brindará un nuevo servicio cinematográfico a Hollywood. La serie americana “Transformers” será filmada en Cuba.
“Transformers” es una serie de películas de acción y ciencia-ficción estadounidense dirigida por Michael Bay, y basada en los juguetes creados por las compañías Hasbro y Tomy.
La exitosa saga hollywoodense “Transformers” rodará este fin de semana parte de su nueva película en La Habana, un escenario que hace poco sirvió de plató para la octava entrega de “Fast and Furious”, anunció esta semana el diario oficial Granma.
El principal diario de la isla adelanta que la filmación de la quinta cinta protagonizada por los famosos “autobots” será “un nuevo servicio cinematográfico a la producción extranjera” de la productora Audiovisuales ICAIC, perteneciente al estatal Instituto Cubano del Arte e Industria Cinematográficos (ICAIC).
La nota también informa que, a diferencia de los numerosos cortes de calles provocados por el rodaje de “Fast and Furious”, las escenas de “Transformers” serán hechas por un pequeño equipo de filmación y no requerirá cierre de calles, por lo que no debe provocar interrupciones en la vida normal de la ciudad.
“Las escenas rodadas en la capital, específicamente en la zona del Malecón y La Habana Vieja, formarán parte de un montaje de tomas en grandes ciudades del mundo, a las que en postproducción se agregarán digitalmente los robots para mostrar cómo se han integrado a la vida en la Tierra”, indica la nota del ICAIC divulgada en Granma.
El diario también recuerda que “los servicios a la producción extranjera forman parte del trabajo habitual de la institución y tienen como objetivo ingresar divisas para el cine nacional e incrementar las oportunidades de empleo para los técnicos y artistas cubanos”.
La primera película de la saga “Transformers” se estrenó en 2007 y la quinta está programada para 2017. Desde el comienzo del “deshielo”, a fines de 2014, Cuba se ha ido convirtiendo en plató de preferencia para la industria del cine y la televisión de EE.UU.
En enero pasado se filmó en La Habana la exitosa serie televisiva estadounidense “House of Lies”, antecedida por otros programas como el espacio humorístico nocturno “Late Night with Conan O’ Brien” y la serie documental “Cuban Chrome”, sobre los coches antiguos norteamericanos o “almendrones”, devenidos en símbolos de la isla caribeña.
A inicios de mes concluyó el rodaje de la octava película de la saga “Fast and Furious”, una superproducción nunca antes vista en Cuba que por dos semanas alteró la rutina de La Habana con atascos de tráfico inusuales en la ciudad y grupos de curiosos atraídos por el despliegue tecnológico.
