NEW U.S. FILM “WINGLESS” (Sin Alas), STORY OF LOVE IN CUBA.
Without wings, the latest production by the American director Ben Chace, premiering on May 4.
The film seduces the Viewer, taking it hand on a journey through history from the Republican Cuba until today. As a pretext, it avails itself of the love story between Luis Vargas, a native writer of the island, and Isabel Muñoz, a famous dancer.
Vargas, who grew up in the idyllic town of Hershey, where his father worked for the chocolate giant, is wrapped in all kinds of situations while tries from raise your family in the midst of a contemporary Havana, where what is most abundant is the shortage.
The entire cast of the film is composed of Cuban artists who live on the island, among which stand out Mario Limonta, Verónica Lynn, along with younger artists, such as Yulislieivis Rodríguez and Lieter Ledezma.
According to Limonta, national award for Television on the island, the project attracted him among other reasons the story told and the fact that the filmmaker was American. In addition, according to the actor, “an excellent opportunity in this rapprochement between the two countries”, said in a recent interview.
Chace, the film is an attempt to capture the multiculturalism of the Cuban nation.
Wingless is inspired in the short history of the writer and Argentine poet Jorge Luis Borges El Zahir.
With music by Aruan Ortiz, famed Afro-Cuban pianist based in New York, the film recreates different locations representative of the Cuban capital, such as the Museum of the revolution (Presidential Palace), theatres and Havana churches, as well as the town of Hershey, built in the Decade of 30 by the Hershey Company.

FILM AMERICANO “SIN ALAS” UNA HISTORIA DE AMOR EN CUBA.
Sin alas, la más reciente producción del director estadounidense Ben Chace, se estrenará este 4 de mayo.
El filme seduce al espectador, llevándolo de la mano en un recorrido a través de la historia desde la Cuba republicana hasta la actualidad. Como pretexto, se sirve de la historia de amor entre Luis Vargas, un escritor oriundo de la Isla, e Isabel Muñoz, una bailarina famosa.
Vargas, que creció en el idílico pueblo de Hershey, donde su padre trabajaba para el gigante del chocolate, se ve envuelto en todo tipo de situaciones mientras trata de sacar adelante a su familia en medio de una Habana contemporánea donde lo que más abunda es la escasez.
Todo el elenco de la película está constituido por artistas cubanos que viven en la Isla, entre los que sobresalen Mario Limonta y Verónica Lynn, junto a artistas más jóvenes, como Yulislieivis Rodríguez y Lieter Ledezma.
Según Limonta, Premio Nacional de Televisión en la Isla, el proyecto le atrajo entre otros motivos por la historia que contaba y el hecho de que el realizador fuera estadounidense. Es además, según el actor, “una excelente oportunidad en este acercamiento entre ambos países”, dijo en una entrevista reciente.
Para Chace, la película es un intento de captar la multiculturalidad de la nación cubana.
