La Habana acoge el primer desfile de Chanel en Latinoamérica. El glamoroso desfile de la alta costura europea era hasta hace poco impensable en la Cuba comunista.
A la nueva Cuba del deshielo sólo le faltaban el glamour y el lujo para demostrar que va cambiando paso a paso tras el acercamiento con Estados Unidos.La famosa casa de moda francesa Chanel fue la encargada de engalanar este martes por la noche a La Habana después de que la banda británica Rolling Stones ya hubiese puesto música hace mes y medio a la apertura cubana, apenas días después de que el presidente estadounindense, Barack Obama, hiciera una histórica visita a la isla.
El diseñador estrella de Chanel, el alemán Karl Lagerfeld, fue esta vez el nombre de la noche. El excéntrico diseñador de la larga cabellera blanca presentó en el célebre Paseo del Prado habanero su nueva colección de entretiempo “Crucero” para la temporada 2016/2017, con un espectacular desfile al aire libre.
La alameda central del Paseo sirvió de pasarela para los modelos de Chanel, que exhibieron los nuevos diseños del “kaiser de la moda” germano entre los árboles y los bancos de mármol de la avenida en el mismo corazón de la ciudad, con las vetustas casas coloniales de La Habana Vieja y Centro Habana como telón de fondo.Chanel había elegido semanas atrás el Paseo del Prado, una ancha avenida que arranca casi a orillas del mar y termina a pocos metros de emblemáticas construcciones de la ciudad como el Gran Teatro de La Habana, como sede del evento.
En contra de algunos rumores previos, ni los organizadores ni las autoridades impidieron que decenas de curiosos se apostaran en ventanas y balcones vecinos para ver el inédito espectáculo. Tampoco una lluvia ligera que atrasó un poco el arranque del show desanimó a los invitados, entre ellos la supermodelo brasileña Gisele Bündchen o el actor estadounidense Vin Diesel.Entre los asistentes locales más conocidos estuvieron la cantante Omara Portuondo, Mariela Castro – la hija del presidente Raúl Castro -, el hijo del histórico ex mandatario Fidel Castro, el directivo deportivo Antonio Castro o los músicos de Gente de Zona, uno de los grupos del momento en el panorama internacional por temas como “La Gozadera”.
En boga con el lugar de la puesta en escena, la nueva colección del “kaiser” alemán eligió este año motivos cubanos como inspiración: la propuesta de Chanel incluye colores cercanos al verde olivo, el tono más asociado a la Revolución cubana, boinas estilo “Che” Guevara e imágenes de “almendrones”, como se conoce a los viejos autos estadounidenses que aún circulan por La Habana, en varias prendas.Chanel alquiló además más de 150 “almendrones”, convertidos en tanto en un emblema de la isla socialista, para trasladar a sus invitados por la ciudad, según sus propias informaciones. Los relucientes “clásicos” descapotables paralizaron por momentos el tráfico en las por lo habitual despobladas calles de La Habana.
Lagerfeld se presentó brevemente al final del show con una chaqueta de brillantes y sus clásicas gafas oscuras. El excéntrico modisto alemán asistió luego a una exclusiva recepción en La Habana Vieja.
