U.S. AND CUBA SEEK COOPERATION IN LEGAL AREAS.
Yesterday in Havana authorities of Cuba and the United States held their second meeting on exploration of areas of bilateral cooperation in the field of application and compliance with the law, reported the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the island.

This meeting, which gave continuity to the first of this area held in Washington on 9 November 2015, took place in a “climate of respect and professionalism”, said the official note.
The Cuban delegation was composed of representatives of the ministries of the Interior, justice, and Foreign Affairs, the General Prosecutor’s Office and the General Customs of the Republic.
The U.S. representation was made by officials of the departments of Homeland Security, justice, State and the U.S. Embassy in Havana.
This meeting was preceded by the third meeting of the bilateral Commission held Monday, also in Havana, headed by director-general United States of the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Josefina Vidal, and the Counselor of the American Secretary of State, Kristie Kenney, who proposed to trace new goals in areas such as health and agriculture to normalize relations.

Autoridades de Cuba y Estados Unidos celebraron este martes en La Habana su segunda reunión sobre exploración de áreas de cooperación bilateral en materia de aplicación y cumplimiento de la ley, informó la Cancillería de la isla.

La delegación cubana estuvo integrada por representantes de los ministerios del Interior, Justicia, y Relaciones Exteriores, de la Fiscalía General y la Aduana General de la República.
La representación estadounidense estuvo integrada por funcionarios de los Departamentos de Seguridad Interna, Justicia, Estado y de la Embajada norteamericana en La Habana.
Este encuentro estuvo precedido por la tercera reunión de la comisión bilateral celebrada ayer lunes, también en La Habana, encabezada por la directora general de EEUU de la cancillería cubana, Josefina Vidal, y la consejera del secretario de Estado norteamericano, Kristie Kenney, que propuso trazar nuevas metas en áreas como salud y agricultura para normalizar las relaciones.
Tras el restablecimiento de los vínculos diplomáticos entre La Cuba y Estados Unidos, en julio de 2015, representantes de ambos gobiernos han desarrollado reuniones técnicas en áreas como la aviación civil, medioambiental, ciberseguridad, y para intercambiar información sobre prevención e investigación del lavado de dinero.
