The new Audi Q2 has started to take a trip by Cuba. The long-awaited mini crossover from Audi debuted worldwide in the controversial island.
We all know that Cuba is fashionable around the world after President Obama of the United States decided to take a step to restore friendly relations with the regime of the Castro brothers.
Therefore, it not surprising knowing that the Audi brand has decided to host the debut of its expected Q2 2017, the new mini crossover that the German manufacturer aims to compete with successful similar offers from BMW and Mercedes-Benz, on the troubled island nation in the North of the Caribbean Sea. Audi thus follows in the footsteps of Chanel, the legendary French fashion house that organized in April a defile of fashions in Havana, and no doubt opens step to a platoon of followers.
Audi Q2, mechanical sister of the seventh generation of the Volkswagen Golf, is a mini 5-passenger crossover designed with the express intention of seducing a young and affluent audience in developed nations, the same that Cuba expects to see on beaches sooner rather that later. However the Cuban Youth for now will have to conform to continue repairing and keeping the relics of his great-grandparents in conditions to circulate since access to a car such as the Q2 is, to all practical effect impossible.
The basic engine will be a three-cylinder 1.0 liter with 114 horsepower, which is followed by a four-cylinder turbo 1.4 litres and 148 horsepower then move to a four-cylinder turbo 2.0 liter with 190 HP.
For more ideal and tempting look for our market, Audi does not plan to sell the Q2 in the United States at the moment.

Todos sabemos que Cuba esta de moda en el mundo entero después que el presidente Obama de los EEUU decidiera dar un paso para restablecer las relaciones amistosas con el régimen de los hermanos Castro.
Es por ello que no nos sorprende el saber que la marca Audi haya decidido organizar el debut de su esperada Q2 2017, la nueva mini crossover con la que el fabricante alemán pretende competir con exitosas ofertas similares de BMW y Mercedes-Benz, en la atribulada nación isleña en el norte del mar Caribe. Audi sigue así los pasos de Chanel, la legendaria casa francesa de modas que en abril organizó un defile de modas en La Habana, y sin duda le abre paso a un pelotón de seguidores.
La Audi Q2, hermana mecánica de la séptima generación del Volkswagen Golf, es una mini crossover para 5 pasajeros diseñada con la expresa intención de seducir a un público juvenil y pudiente en naciones desarrolladas, el mismo que Cuba espera ver en sus playas más temprano que tarde. Sin embargo la juventud cubana por el momento tendrá que conformarse con seguir reparando y manteniendo a las reliquias de sus bisabuelos en condiciones para circular ya que acceder a un auto como el Q2 les es, a todo efecto práctico, imposible.
El motor básico será un tres cilindros de 1.0 litros con 114 caballos, al que le sigue un cuatro cilindros turbo de 1.4 litros y 148 caballos de fuerza para luego pasar a un cuatro cilindros turbo de 2.0 litros con 190 caballos de fuerza.
Por más ideal y tentadora que luzca para nuestro mercado, Audi no planea vender la Q2 en los Estados Unidos por el momento.
