Nelson Ascencio is an Actor/Writer best known for his time on MADtv, as well as appearances on Curb Your Enthusiasm, Paul and most recently The Hunger Games franchise as Flavius.
Nelson Ascencio did some high school productions and stand up in NYC. He studied acting at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and HB Studios. He then moved to Los Angeles where he got involved at the Groundlings Theatre – it was here he honed his skills in comedy, improv and writing.
Is best known on MADtv (1995) for his impression of Ricky Martin.
Since then he has written, performed and produced his own sketch shows with the comedy group Unsafe Sketch at HBO Workspace, Luna Park, The Upfront and Theatre at the Improv. His television credits include appearances on The Larry Sanders Show and Seinfeld, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and as a series regular on “MadTV”.
Nelson continues to write his own material. He wrote, produced and starred in his own pilot “Holavision” about starting his own Network.
Personal life.
Has an identical twin who also lives in Los Angeles.
Side business is Press Cafeteria – Homemade Cuban Pressed Sandwiches for parties and movie sets. A self taught home chef. Is also credited as Nelson Lesmo.

Nelson Ascencio hizo algunas producciones de la escuela de Amateur ante el publico en Nueva York. Estudió actuación en la Academia Americana de Arte Dramático y HB Studios.
