EN CUBA Y VENEZUELA, LA IMPRESCINDIBLE DEMOCRACIA.

Al tiempo que, en la destrozada Venezuela, la Mesa de la Unidad Democrática (MUD), que recién se hizo con el control del Legislativo, se afana por realizar el refrendo que permita remover de manera anticipada al impresentable Nicolás Maduro, en México, en Quintana Roo para ser exactos, representantes de medio centenar de organizaciones que al interior de la isla o en la llamada diáspora, pugnan por avanzar hacia la auténtica democratización de Cuba, aprobaron una agenda mínima de acciones a realizar para alcanzar tal propósito y, más, dieron forma e integraron el secretariado de la Mesa de Unidad de Acción Democrática (MUAD).
En los últimos días, efectivamente, y al igual que lo han venido haciendo desde hace un par de años, representantes de organizaciones pro democracia y activistas independientes celebraron el denominado Tercer Encuentro “Caminos para una Cuba Democrática” al término del que, ayer, emitieron una declaración en la que, amén de destacar su explícito repudio de “cualquier forma de violencia como modo de control y cambio político”, demandaron el cese de la represión a los derechos de asociación, reunión y expresión en la isla, y exigieron la inmediata liberación de todos los presos políticos, “el cese de las golpizas y la abolición de la pena de muerte”.
La MUAD, dice el documento en otra de sus partes, exige al gobierno que respete el derecho de todo ciudadano a entrar y salir libremente de su país y restituya a los cubanos emigrados todos sus derechos civiles, políticos, económicos y culturales… (así como) el derecho a todos “a acceder libremente y de manera inmediata a todos los medios de comunicación y de información”. Y luego, en alusión directa a lo que viene ocurriendo en los últimos años respecto de extranjeros con poder económico, “consideramos que es un derecho de todos, cubanos y extranjeros, participar en el desarrollo económico de la nación con seguridad jurídica (pues) es inaceptable una política inversionista y de propiedad que discrimina” a los nacionales.
En la reunión, tercera de su tipo que se realiza en territorio mexicano, personajes tales como Guillermo Fariñas, periodista receptor del “Premio Sajarov” por su lucha en pro de los derechos humanos, y el historiador y líder del Partido Arco Progresista Manuel Cuesta Morúa, además de “facilitadores-acompañantes” de la Fundación Konrad Adenauer y Marco A. Adame, secretario de Acción Internacional del panismo, intercambiaron puntos de vista sobre alternativas existentes para avanzar hacia la plena y real democratización de la isla e, incluso, ante el anuncio que hiciera la administración de los hermanos (Fidel y Raúl) Castro de promover una nueva constitución, externaron su convicción de que tal proceso, en caso de darse, debe ser “plural, abierto, consensuado y aprobado por medio del sufragio popular…” lo que, se entiende, reprobaría cualquier redacción realizada a puertas cerradas, con la participación sólo del Partido Comunista de Cuba y afines.
Plural en su integración, pues lo mismo había entre los participantes afines a la democracia cristiana que a movimientos de corte socialdemócrata, la Mesa de Unidad de Acción Democrática (MUAD) de Cuba reiteró también su permanente llamado a la realización de elecciones libres y, a manera de conclusión, llamó a toda la población a participar en el deseado proceso en el que, dice, “todos cabemos”.
