Cuba closed the year 2015 with 30.6% of its territory covered by forests, the outcome that confirms it within the small group of Nations in developing maintaining sustained growth of important environmental indicator, according to report of ONEI cited by the State newspaper Granma.
According to the text “environmental Panorama. Cuba 2015 “, published on the web site of the State National Office of statistics and information, in 2010 the forest area covered the 27.6% of the archipelago.
According to the report, again the province of Pinar del Rio appears as the most reforested reaching 47,0% of its total area occupied by trees, followed by Guantánamo with the 46.7; Matanzas, 39.1; Holguín, 38.3; Santiago de Cuba, 33.0, and Granma, 26.7.
The Isla de la Juventud special municipality shows an appreciable 65.2, while in Las Tunas forests cover only 19.0% of the local area.

Cuba cerró el 2015 con el 30,6 % de su territorio cubierto por bosques, resultado que la ratifica dentro del reducido grupo de naciones en vías de desarrollo que mantienen un sostenido crecimiento de tan importante indicador ambiental, según informe de ONEI citado por el diario estatal Granma.
Según los datos del texto “Panorama ambiental. Cuba 2015”, publicado en el sitio web de la estatal Oficina Nacional de Estadística e Información, en el 2010 la superficie boscosa abarcaba el 27,6 % del archipiélago.
De acuerdo con el reporte, nuevamente la provincia de Pinar del Río aparece como la más reforestada al alcanzar el 47,0 % de su área total ocupada por árboles, seguida de Guantánamo con el 46,7; Matanzas, 39,1; Holguín, 38,3; Santiago de Cuba, 33,0, y Granma, 26,7.
El municipio especial Isla de la Juventud muestra un apreciable 65,2, mientras en Las Tunas los bosques solo cubren el 19,0 % de la superficie local.
