LA RUMBA POPULAR GENERO MUSICAL CUBANO.
La rumba es un género musical cubano que se canta y baila. Su origen es básicamente urbano; encontramos tres vertientes: el yambú, de fuente urbana; la columbia, rural, y el guaguancó, igualmente urbano y quizás el más popular de todos. Su música carece de elementos rituales o religiosos.
Recordemos que su génesis y formación viene de zonas urbanas, cuarterías, solares, en lugares alrededor de los puertos y los ingenios azucareros, de ahí sus instrumentos musicales como los tambores, cajones, claves y cucharas.
Los principales cultivadores en Cuba son Los Muñequitos de Matanzas, Los Papines y la agrupación camagüeyana Rumbatá, agrupaciones que han llevado la rumba a niveles estelares en todos los rincones del mundo.
Recientemente el proyecto de integración cultural cubano Timbalaye ha llevado a afianzar la especialidad en países como México e Italia, con la creación de instituciones para el aprendizaje de estos ritmos de raíz africana.
Y es que un rumbón se forma en cualquier momento y donde usted quiera, y es por eso, y mucho más que la declaramos Patrimonio Cultural de Cuba. Y espero que la humanidad la considere suya también.
