The President of the Council of State and Ministers of Cuba, Raúl Castro, has requested to the President of Russia, Vladímir Putin, to initiate the oil supplies to the island, reports Interfax. According to the report, Castro has called on Putin to scan the possibility of supplying Cuba regularly oil and other products.
Cuba affected by the problems of oil production that suffers from Venezuela, with which Cuba has been forced to seek other international suppliers to help meet its domestic demand, said a source of the Kremlin to Interfax.
In order to lessen the impact of these problems on its population, Cuba has taken steps to restrict the use of energy, a circumstance which affects development in medium and long term of certain projects in the country, indicates Interfax.
At the end of August, Cuba received a visit from the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, Mohammad Javad Zarif, who emphasized the desire of his country to strengthen bilateral relations and discussed specific issues of economic cooperation in such fields as agriculture, derived from petroleum, petrochemical, mining, medicine, and engineering.

El presidente del Consejo de Estado y de Ministros de Cuba, Raúl Castro, ha solicitado al presidente de Rusia, Vladímir Putin, que inicie el suministro de petróleo a la isla, informa Interfax. Según el reporte, Castro ha pedido al mandatario ruso que analice la posibilidad de suministrar a Cuba de manera regular petróleo y otros productos derivados.
A Cuba le afectan los problemas de producción de petróleo que sufre Venezuela, con lo cual La Habana se ha visto forzada a buscar otros proveedores internacionales que le ayuden a satisfacer su demanda interna, declaró una fuente del Kremlin a Interfax.
Con el fin de disminuir el impacto de estos problemas en su población, Cuba ha tomado medidas para restringir el uso de energía, una circunstancia que afecta al desarrollo a medio y largo plazo de ciertos proyectos del país, indica Interfax.
A finales de agosto, Cuba recibió la visita del ministro de Relaciones Exteriores de Irán, Mohammad Javad Zarif, quien destacó el deseo de su país de fortalecer las relaciones bilaterales y trató temas específicos de cooperación económica en ámbitos como la agricultura, los derivados del petróleo, la petroquímica, la minería, la medicina y la ingeniería.
