The Democrat candidate to the Vice-Presidency of the United States, Senator Tim Kaine, said that relations with Cuba restarted under the Government of Barack Obama can move more or less quickly, but they will “never” go back.

“The process will go forward, never backwards.” The speed of the process depends on, it can be slow or fast, but we need to work with Cuba on matters of importance, especially on human rights issues”, said the Senator from Virginia, who has been a member of the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee.
“Then we can have a quick process or a process slow, but we’re not going back,” reiterated the aspiring Democratic Vice Presidential, since there may be a possible Republican obstacles in Congress to lift the embargo on the island.
The Senator, who has developed special ties with Latin America and the Hispanic community, insisted on the benefits that this new diplomatic phase with Havana are associated with United States.
“Our process with Cuba is helping the United States with every country in the Americas, normalize the relationship with Cuba is opening doors with other countries in the Americas and Hillary and I want to work together with the Nations of the continent,” said the Vice Presidential candidate.

El aspirante demócrata a la Vicepresidencia de Estados Unidos, el senador Tim Kaine, aseguró que las relaciones con Cuba reiniciadas bajo el Gobierno de Barack Obama pueden avanzar más o menos rápido, pero “nunca” irán hacia atrás.

“El proceso va a ir para delante, nunca hacia atrás. La rapidez del proceso depende, puede ser rápido o lento, pero necesitamos trabajar con Cuba sobre asuntos de importancia, especialmente sobre asuntos de derechos humanos”, apuntó el senador por Virginia, quien ha sido miembro del Comité de Asuntos Exteriores del Senado.
“Entonces podemos tener un proceso rápido o un proceso lento, pero no vamos a ir atrás”, reiteró el aspirante demócrata a la Vicepresidencia, ya que pueden existir posibles obstáculos republicanos en el Congreso para levantar el embargo sobre la isla.
El senador, quien ha desarrollado especiales vínculos con América Latina y la comunidad hispana, insistió en los beneficios que esta nueva etapa diplomática con La Habana suponen para Estados Unidos.
“Nuestro proceso con Cuba está ayudando a los Estados Unidos con cada país de las Américas, normalizar la relación con Cuba está abriendo puertas con otros países en las Américas y Hillary y yo queremos trabajar junto con las naciones del continente”, aseveró el aspirante vicepresidencial.
Donald Trump, aspirante republicano a la presidencia norteamericana ha anunciado que de ganar las elecciones revertirá la apertura de Estados Unidos hacia Cuba promovida por Obama a menos que se establezcan “libertades religiosas y políticas” en la isla.
El presidente Barack Obama a encontrando escollos en el Congreso, de mayoría republicana, donde un grupo de representantes no parece estar dispuesto a levantar el embargo sobre la isla.
