U.S. Telecommunications AT & T Group announced Tuesday the launch of its roaming service in Cuba that will allow their customers to talking on the phone, send or receive text messages and use data while they are on the island.
“We know that our clients want to have a connection without interruptions and a continuous mobile experience, especially now that more people travel to Cuba,” said Executive Vice President of AT & T, Bill Hague.
The announcement of the phone operator occurs within the framework of the normalization of relations between Washington and Havana, it was announced by the Presidents of both countries, Barack Obama and Raúl Castro in December 2014.
“The expansion of our mobile services to Cuba strengthens our position as the provider of mobile service in the United States with the best international coverage,” added Hague in a statement.
Shortly before the midpoint of the trading day on Wall Street, shares of AT & T advanced by 0.32% in the stock exchange of New York (NYSE), where have appreciated almost 14% since the beginning of the year.

El grupo de telecomunicaciones AT&T anunció este martes el lanzamiento de su servicio de itinerancia en Cuba que permitirá a sus clientes hablar por teléfono, enviar o recibir mensajes de texto y usar datos mientras están en la Isla.
“Sabemos que nuestros clientes quieren contar con una conexión sin interrupciones y una experiencia móvil continua, especialmente ahora que más personas viajan a Cuba”, afirmó el vicepresidente ejecutivo de AT&T, Bill Hague.
El anuncio de la operadora de telefonía se produce en el marco de la normalización de las relaciones entre Washington y La Habana, que fue anunciado en diciembre de 2014 por los presidentes de ambos países, Barack Obama y Raúl Castro.
“La ampliación de nuestros servicios móviles a Cuba refuerza nuestra posición como el proveedor de servicio móvil de Estados Unidos con la mejor cobertura internacional”, añadió Hague en un comunicado.
Poco antes del ecuador de la jornada bursátil en Wall Street, las acciones de AT&T avanzaba un 0,32% en la Bolsa de Nueva York (NYSE), donde se han apreciado casi un 14% desde que comenzó el año.
