REACCIÓN DENTRO DE CUBA ANTE LA MUERTE DE FIDEL CASTRO
Un botero (Chofer de Taxi) de la línea Vedado-Víbora cree que los cubanos vivimos el luto “cada cuál a su manera”, y cuenta la experiencia del “primer día en mi vida, sin Fidel”.
“Lo mío es brindarle un servicio a la gente por sobre todas las cosas; si tú me dices que te quite la música, yo la quito; de hecho ayer hubo un par de pasajeros que me lo pidieron. Me dijeron: ‘Oye, compadre quítame esa música que hoy el día no está pa’eso’, y yo, sin protestar, la quité porque lo mío es que me paguen, no juzgar a nadie. También se ha montado gente que se siente de fiesta y baila, canta y todo”.
En la esquina del cine Yara, en el corazón del Vedado, a Ernesto lo rodeó un grupo de vendedores de tarjetas telefónicas que por momentos tomó por policías.
“Se decían entre ellos cuánto lo sentían. Decían que si se murió el caballo, que si se murió el tipo, el hombre, y creo que no confesaron que lloraron porque los hombres en Cuba no lloran. Casi me hacen llorar a mí. Pero cuando uno dijo que iban a ser nueve días de luto, a los demás por poco les da una cosa”.
A quienes les gusta despedir con ron a los muertos que consideran suyos, tendrán que abstenerse. Yendry cuenta que él estaba en un bar en 1era y 14, en Miramar, cuando se enteraron de la noticia, y los mismos dueños apagaron la música y se declararon en duelo.
“Nos echaron a todos a la calle”, dice. En Marianao varios bares que con carteles hechos a mano por la premura de los sucesos declaran: “Prohibido vender bebidas alcohólicas”. Abel ayer intentó comprar unas cervezas en el Vedado y después de sufrir el escrutinio del dependiente le dijeron: “Te las vendo, pero te las tienes que llevar escondidas”.
Por otro lado, los negocios particulares siguen prestando sus servicios gastronómicos.
“Ay, mija este es el melodrama nacional. ¿Nueve días?”, comenta Olivia.
Adys, indignada, se cuestiona el llanto de los estudiantes en la Universidad visto por la televisión: “Oye, yo me siento mal, no lo voy a negar, han sido muchos años viéndolo y debiéndole cosas a la Revolución que fue él en nuestras vidas, pero me parece un poco exagerado los mocos en la pantalla”.
Y agrega: “Una chiquilla que estoy segura de que cuando se gradúe va a querer irse del país como todos, histérica, hipócrita, eso fue a lo que me sonó su llanto. Fue más creíble el de la señora que pusieron después, aunque quién sabe porqué lloraba realmente”.

En la calle Estévez, en El Cerro, dos mujeres de quienes las apariencias no dirían que fueran fidelistas, confiesan que “hasta soltaron unas lágrimas” cuando dieron la noticia en la televisión, pero están seguras, como otro vecino de El Cerro, que los bancos de la bolita en estos días deben estar a reventar.

Maylin, maestra, recuerda cómo ahora “hay que decirle a los niños quién es Fidel en la escuela, pues claro que no pueden tener la misma pena que nosotros los mayores, ellos nunca han tenido cuatro horas de discurso sin poder ver los muñequitos, y nosotros sí”.
Y concluye: “Así que hace falta paciencia y un par de generaciones más para que todo esto haya sido un mal sueño”.
Eduardo hace su propio análisis a partir de lo que percibe en la calle: “El miedo nos ha llevado a no hacer nada para que no nos malinterpreten, cuando casi todos lo que queremos es celebrar”.
El silencio, que también se podría interpretar como luto, él lo entiende como un “no salgo a la calle no vaya a ser que se forme algo y me confundan. Sobre todo ahora que la gente cree que tiene algo que perder”.
Sin embargo, la hipótesis más tremenda la hace Octavio, un custodio de cine, que no cree en las casualidades: “¿Cómo es que se viene a morir justo ahora? ¿No será que este es el momento de empezar a negociar con los americanos de verdad, al machete y con la luz apagá?”.
A partir de la experiencia que, según él, le han dado los años: “Esta gente va a aprovecharse que estamos muy tristes para terminar de vendernos el país al payaso ese que acaba entrar como presidente en EEUU. Al negro no, pero a este que parece no tener escrúpulos, ya verás…”
