ANA VIÑA, FILMS, THEATRE AND TELEVISION (BORN IN PINAR DEL RÍO).
Ana Viña was born on December 12, 1941 in Pinar del Rio, is a Cuban actress well known in the artistic media for his performances in many films as “Old Havana Waltz” filmed in 1988, “The survivors” in 1979 and “To certain extent” in 1983.
He started to work in television in 1957, as a model in commercials. In 1958, it is admitted in the first course of action of the newly founded Theatre Studio, where he received classes of Vicente Revuelta, Héctor García Mesa and Raquel Revuelta.
In 1959 became part of the cast of the Conjunto Dramático Nacional until in 1962 he joined the Teatro Musical de La Habana.
In 1962 was selected for the film the twelve chairs directed by Tomás Gutiérrez Alea and receives a scholarship to study at the higher Institute of cinema of the USSR of the ICAIC.
In 1965 he participated in the filming of the Soviet film the thousand windows, and in 1967 he graduated with the degree of Master of arts.
From 1968 it resets his theatre career, back in the Studio Theatre, and Musical de La Habana groups.
He has starred in numerous works of Cuban and international theatre, among them Don Gil de shims green, tales of the Decameron, La zapatera prodigiosa, twelfth night and the witches of Salem. For 5 years he taught acting at the Instituto Superior de Arte.
He currently resides in the United States.

Ana Viña nació en Pinar del Río el 12 de Diciembre de 1941, es una actriz cubana bien conocida en los medios artisticos por sus actuaciones en numerosas películas como “Vals de la Habana Vieja” filmada en 1988, “Los Sobrevivientes” en 1979 y “Hasta Cierto Punto” en 1983.
Comienza a trabajar en la televisión en 1957, como modelo en los anuncios publicitarios. En 1958 es admitida en el primer curso de actuación del recién fundado Teatro Estudio, donde recibe clases de Vicente Revuelta, Héctor García Mesa y Raquel Revuelta.
En 1959 pasa a formar parte del elenco del Conjunto Dramático Nacional hasta que en 1962 ingresa en el Teatro Musical de La Habana.
En 1962 es seleccionada para el filme Las doce sillas dirigido por Tomás Gutiérrez Alea y recibe del ICAIC una beca para estudiar en el Instituto Superior de Cine de la URSS.
En el Film “Los Sobrevivientes”.
En 1965 participa en el rodaje del filme soviético Las mil ventanas, y en 1967 se gradúa con el grado académico de Master en Artes.
A partir de 1968 reinicia su carrera teatral, de nuevo en los grupos Teatro Estudio, y Musical de La Habana.
Ha protagonizado numerosas obras del teatro cubano e internacional, entre las que se destacan Don Gil de las calzas verdes, Cuentos del Decamerón, La zapatera prodigiosa, La duodécima noche y Las brujas de Salem. Durante 5 años impartió clases de actuación en el Instituto Superior de Arte.
Actualmente reside en los Estados Unidos.
