Cuba of Miserable had nothing in the 50’s or before. Whoever compares it to the misery of Guatemala, Haiti or Somalia in the 1950s is because it knows nothing of the history of this great country. Cuba had electricity, radio stations, X-rays and women’s votes before any Latin American country.

La politóloga guatemalteca Gloria Álvarez hace una interesante reseña de lo que fue Cuba antes de la dictadura y el momento actual tras la muerte de Fidel Castro.
Cuba de miserable no tenía nada en los 50 ni antes. Quien la compare con la miseria de Guatemala, Haití o Somalia en los 50, es porque no conoce nada de la historia de este grandioso país. Cuba tuvo electricidad, estaciones de radio, rayos X y voto para la mujer antes que cualquier país de América Latina.
1) Cuba fue el tercer país más rico de América, con la tercera capital más moderna del mundo, sexto más alto ingreso per cápita en el mundo, país más rico que Italia, España, Japón, Austria y Portugal (Antes del socialismo). En 1956, la ONU reconoce a Cuba como el segundo país en América Latina con las tasas más bajas de analfabetismo (solo el 23.6 %). Tasas de Haití fue 90 %; y España, El Salvador, Bolivia, Venezuela, Brasil, Perú, Guatemala y la República Dominicana 50 %.
2) En 1957, la ONU reconoce a Cuba como el mejor país de América Latina en número de médicos per cápita (1 por cada 957 habitantes), con el mayor porcentaje de hogares con electricidad, a continuación de Uruguay y con el mayor número de calorías (2,870) ingerida por habitante.

9) El primer tranvía que circuló en América Latina fue en La Habana en 1900.

Hoy, después de más de medio siglo, la “revolución” socialista cubano, la dictadura más antigua del planeta ha sido acusada de numerosas violaciones de derechos humanos, incluida la tortura, las detenciones arbitrarias, juicios injustos y ejecuciones extrajudiciales (también conocido como “El Paredón”).
Human Rights Watch acusa al Gobierno de “la represión de casi todas las formas de disenso político” y que “los cubanos se les niega sistemáticamente los derechos fundamentales a la libertad de expresión, asociación, reunión, privacidad, movimiento y debido proceso”.
Los ciudadanos no pueden salir o regresar a Cuba sin obtener primero el permiso oficial.
Miremos hoy a la miserable y paupérrima Cuba, no produce NADA. Su gente no trabaja, porque no hay donde hacerlo, llena de mendigos y prostitutas.
Un país que vive exclusivamente de chupar los recursos de otros países , hasta quebrarlos, como actualmente lo hacen con Venezuela y Ecuador.
