CUBAN GOVERNMENT ALLOWS CRUISE LINES TO TRAVEL FROM MIAMI TO THE ISLAND.
Cruises Royal Caribbean and Norwegian Cruise Line companies announced Wednesday that finally have received permits from the Cuban Government to travel to the island from Florida, the Usa Today newspaper reported.
Royal Caribbean (RCL) communicated that you can operate both with the ships that give name to the company as with the smaller line Azamara Club Cruises. RCL not specified a date of commencement of the services, although he said it would be soon.
For his part, Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings (NCLH), also based in Miami, said that its three lines – Norwegian, Oceania and Regent Seven Seas – they received green light from Havana to operate trips to Cuba and would begin in March.
NCLH explained that Cruiser Marina, Oceania and with capacity for 1,250 passengers, would become the first of their boats to make a tour of the Caribbean that includes Havana. The trip is scheduled for March 7, 2017.
Since then, the Navy vessel will operate other trips in May will also be out of Miami and will include the Cuban capital city.
In April the ship Mariner of Regent Seven Seas, will play Havana Harbor with 700 passengers on board. The Norwegian Sky, with more than 2,000 tourists, will offer in may a selection of four-day trips that include a night in Havana.
According to Usa Today, these ships will be the first of well-established cruise brands that will sail from United States to Cuba in decades.
The only other cruise that sails from United States to Cuba is the Adonia, of 704 passengers, with flag of Fathom, a little-known brand of a single ship launched earlier this year by Carnival Corporation with that goal.
The Adonia began bi-monthly trips to Cuba in May last but soon will end trips, according to an announcement the own Carnival Corporation. The brand will close its operations of cruise to the island next spring and return the ship to its British owner.
“The new trips announced major probably will be a success greater than travel of Fathom, since they seem to be centered in the Cuban capital, which is the key attraction in the country for the majority of Americans,” saw Mike Driscoll, editor of Cruise Week magazine.
Fathom trips include stops in the cities of Santiago de Cuba and Cienfuegos, according to specialists in tourism are less attractive for Americans, and a full week.

GOBIERNO CUBANO AUTORIZA A COMPAÑÍAS DE CRUCEROS DAR VIAJES DE MIAMI A LA ISLA.
Las compañías de cruceros Royal Caribbean y Norwegian Cruise Line anunciaron este miércoles que finalmente han recibido los permisos del Gobierno cubano para realizar viajes a la Isla desde la Florida, informó el diario Usa Today.
Royal Caribbean (RCL) comunicó que podrá operar tanto con los navíos que dan nombre a la empresa como con la línea más pequeña Azamara Club Cruises. RCL no precisó una fecha de inicio de los servicios, aunque adelantó que sería pronto.
Por su parte, Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings (NCLH), también basada en Miami, declaró que sus tres líneas —Norwegian, Oceania y Regent Seven Seas— recibieron luz verde de La Habana para operar viajes hacia Cuba y comenzarían en marzo.
NCLH detalló que el crucero Marina, de Oceania y con capacidad para 1.250 pasajeros, se convertiría en el primero de sus barcos en realizar una ruta por el Caribe que incluya a La Habana. El viaje está previsto para el 7 de marzo de 2017.
A partir de entonces, el buque Marina operará otros viajes en mayo que también tendrán salida de Miami e incluirán a la ciudad capital cubana.
En abril tocará puerto habanero el buque Mariner, de Regent Seven Seas, con 700 pasajeros a bordo. El Norwegian Sky, con más de 2.000 turistas, ofrecerá en mayo una selección de viajes de cuatro días que incluirán una noche en La Habana.
Según Usa Today, estos navíos serán los primeros de marcas de crucero bien establecidas que navegarán desde Estados Unidos a Cuba en décadas.
El único otro crucero que navega desde Estados Unidos a Cuba es el Adonia, de 704 pasajeros, con bandera de Fathom, una marca poco conocida de un solo barco lanzada a principios de este año por Carnival Corporation con ese objetivo.
El Adonia comenzó viajes bimensuales a Cuba en mayo pasado pero pronto terminará los viajes, según anunció la propia Carnival Corporation. La marca cerrará sus operaciones de crucero hacia la Isla la próxima primavera y devolverá el barco a su dueño británico.
“Los nuevos viajes anunciados por las grandes marcas probablemente serán un éxito más grande que los viajes de Fathom, ya que parecen estar centrados en la capital cubana, que es la atracción clave en el país para la mayoría de los estadounidenses”, consideró Mike Driscoll, editor de la revista Cruise Week.
Los viajes de Fathom incluyen paradas en las ciudades de Santiago de Cuba y Cienfuegos, que según los especialistas en turismo tienen menos atractivo para los estadounidenses, y duran una semana completa.
