Obama Adviser stressed that it referred not immigration relief, but “what you can do from a humanitarian point of view” to help ensure that migrants are in “good” and “resettled” properly.
“It would be too difficult to make exceptions and know what people apply them unless that outbreak of an immigration crisis,” said Rhodes.

El Gobierno de Barack Obama descartó este martes que vaya a hacer una excepción para los indocumentados cubanos que estaban a punto de llegar a EEUU cuando cambió la política que les habría permitido quedarse, pero sí se plantea dar asistencia para mejorar las condiciones “humanitarias” de esos emigrantes.
El asesor adjunto de Seguridad Nacional de Obama, Ben Rhodes, se refirió durante una conferencia de prensa a la decisión del mandatario de acabar el pasado jueves con la política de “pies secos, pies mojados”.
El fin de esa política, que otorgaba a los cubanos indocumentados que lograban tocar tierra en Estados Unidos la posibilidad de quedarse en el país y obtener la residencia permanente un año después, ha decepcionado a numerosos isleños que se encontraban de camino y ahora están varados en México y Centroamérica.
“Queremos trabajar con los Gobiernos centroamericanos y el cubano para intentar determinar si podemos proporcionar algún tipo de asistencia” a los cubanos que se quedaron a las puertas de Estados Unidos, aseguró Rhodes, quien este lunes viajó a Cuba para hablar sobre el fin de esa política migratoria y otros temas.
