Una información de Martí Noticias confirma que este domingo falleció en La Habana Agustina del Carmen Castro Ruz, la menor de los hermanos del clan gobernante en Cuba.
Agustina del Carmen vivia en una casa del Nuevo Vedado con su hija Lina Rodríguez Castro de 48 años, Lina pasó algún tiempo viviendo en Miami y después vuelve a La Habana con su madre, sabemos que tiene un hijo de cerca de 20 años.

El esposo de Agustina fue Silvio Rodríguez Cárdenas quien fue uno de los mejores pianistas que ha dado Cuba, emigró hacia la Florida al final de los años 90’s, Rodríguez Cárdenas contrajo matrimonio con Agustina Castro Ruz, hermana menor de Fidel, pero mantuvo una relación difícil con la familia de su esposa. Se quejaba de que el parentesco había afectado su carrera. En 1986, a punto de ofrecer un concierto en Bonn, le dio un infarto masivo. Nunca se recobró. Murió en 2009.
En 1993, sus hijos Ángel y Silvio salieron de Cuba reclamados por su tía Juanita Castro. Silvio se les uniría. El pianista vivía en Orlando, lejos del bullicio. De acuerdo con la propia fuente, los restos de Agustina Castro fueron cremados y solo se espera la llegada a La Habana de la hermana Emma, quien reside en México para el funeral. “Agustina Castro, aunque vivió en Cuba toda su vida, nunca ocupó ningún cargo en el gobierno o las organizaciones de masas que creó su hermano Fidel Castro”, reitera Martí Noticias.
