Royal Caribbean is one of the largest operators of these vessels in the world and is the fourth company of that origin in that modality that travels to the Cuban archipelago.
Previously they did Carnival Cruise Line (March 2016), and Pearl Seas Cruise last January, in addition to Norwegian Cruise Line Holding (NCLH) on March 9.
This shipping company has a stopover program to the port of Havana from Miami, with the boats Azamara Quest and the Empress of the Sea, which carry respectively 694 and two thousand five passengers.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony of the inaugural trip was led by Royal Caribbean Cruise Line president Adam Mark Goldstein and the general manager of Aries Transportes S.A. Of Cuba, Captain Angel Diaz, who welcomed the fact.

They anticipated that for this year they foresee a substantial increase in the arrival of cruises. The island received in 2016 for the first time 4.2 million foreign visitors.

Perteneciente a la compañía Royal Caribbean Cruise Line Ltd., con sede en Miami, Florida, el Azamara atracó en la terminal de cruceros Sierra Maestra de esta capital este viernes.
Royal Caribbean constituye uno de los mayores operadores de esas embarcaciones del mundo y es la cuarta compañía de esa procedencia en dicha modalidad que viaja al archipiélago cubano.
Anteriormente lo hicieron Carnival Cruise Line (marzo de 2016), y Pearl Seas Cruise en enero pasado, además de Norwegian Cruise Line Holding (NCLH) el 9 de marzo.
Esta compañía naviera tiene un programa de escalas al puerto de La Habana desde Miami, con los barcos Azamara Quest y el Empress of the Sea, que llevan respectivamente 694 y dos mil cinco pasajeros.
La ceremonia de corte de cinta del viaje inaugural estuvo a cargo del presidente de Royal Caribbean Cruise Line, Adam Mark Goldstein, y del gerente general de Aries Transportes S.A. de Cuba, capitán Ángel Díaz, quienes se congratularon con el hecho.
Díaz dio la bienvenida a los directivos de la firma transportista y a los viajeros, y mostró su complacencia con el incremento de los viajes de cruceros a Cuba.
Para las autoridades locales es importante la continuidad de las operaciones de cruceros de compañías estadounidenses a este país, como parte del proceso de mejoría de los nexos entre las dos naciones.
En 2016, fueron presentadas y aprobadas para realizar viajes de este tipo a cuatro firmas con las que se establecieron las correspondientes relaciones como es el caso de Carnival Cruise Line, Royal Caribbean Cruise, Norwegian Cruise y Pearl Seas LLP.
Las autoridades cubanas que participaron en el recibimiento añadieron a la prensa que estas cuatro compañías realizan escalas en varios puntos del territorio como La Habana, la centro-sur ciudad de Cienfuegos y la oriental de Santiago de Cuba.
Adelantaron que para este año prevén un incremento sustancial en el arribo de cruceros. La isla recibió en 2016 por primera vez a 4,2 millones de visitantes extranjeros.
