His beginnings in the United States were not easy since he lived in “a pure American place” and he did not speak English. “When I went to high school, in fact, there were 4,000 students in school and the only one who spoke Spanish was me. I did not understand the language. I did not even know how to ask permission to go to the bathroom, “he recalls.

Artistic life.

Wild, dreamy, humble and familiar. Those are the qualities that best define Adrian Di Monte, the actor who plays Abelardo in the superstar Lady Steel. In the recordings, in fact, many of his companions told him Tarzan by its similarity with the mentioned fictitious personage; Something with which the actor seems to agree. “I’m not a city boy at all, I’m rather rude. The way I dress, behave, the things I say I am very like a ranch, “he says.

For that reason, Adrian recognizes that Abelardo is an extension of his person. “I grew up in the countryside, on the mountain, in my house there were many animals. I learned to ride a horse from an early age. I think I’m mostly Abelardo just because I was not rich, “he explains.

The actor points out that one of the things that he enjoyed most about his participation in this story was working with Sergio Goyri, who gives life to corrupt politician Chucho Casares. “Despite being a great actor is a great person. Passionate about art since he was a child, especially painting, Di Monte decided at the moment to opt for architecture, a career that ended but never exercised because the performance crossed his path. “One day I went to a McDonald’s casting in Miami Beach and a manager saw me in an elevator and told me if I would like to be an actor. That’s how the thing started, “he says.

Was lucky. It did not take long for him to arrive his first opportunity: a young protagonist in the telenovela Rosario (2012). “It was very difficult because I could not get into the character. They were even going to get me out of the soap opera, but fortunately a director helped me and thanks to her I was able to get it out and everything went well, “he says.

Sus inicios en Estados Unidos no fueron nada fáciles ya que vivía en “un lugar puro americano” y él no hablaba inglés. “Cuando fui a la preparatoria, de hecho, había 4,000 estudiantes en la escuela y el único que hablaba español era yo. No entendía nada del idioma. Ni siquiera sabía cómo pedir permiso para ir al baño”, recuerda.

Vida Artistica.

Salvaje, soñador, humilde y familiar. Esas son las cualidades que mejor definen a Adrián Di Monte, el actor que interpreta a Abelardo en la superserie Señora Acero. En las grabaciones, de hecho, muchos de sus compañeros le decían Tarzán por su similitud con el citado personaje ficticio; algo con lo que el actor parece estar de acuerdo. “Para nada soy un muchacho de la ciudad, soy más bien rudo. La manera de vestirme, de comportarme, las cosas que digo soy muy como de rancho”, asegura.

Por ese motivo, Adrián reconoce que Abelardo es una extensión de su persona. “Yo me crié en el campo, en el monte, en mi casa había muchos animales. Aprendí a montar a caballo desde muy temprana edad. Creo que soy en gran parte Abelardo solo que yo no era rico”, explica.

El actor señala que una de las cosas que más disfrutó de su participación en esta historia fue trabajar con Sergio Goyri, quien da vida al político corrupto Chucho Casares. “A pesar de ser un gran actor es una gran persona. Es un tipo super amigable y sincero: lo que piensa lo dice. Tiene un carácter fuerte, pero a la misma vez es muy amable y respetuoso. Es un tipazo”, expresa.

Di Monte confiesa que le tocó grabar escenas muy arriesgadas dentro de esta superserie, tanto es así que en una de ellas salió lastimado. “Un día dispararon un arma al lado de mi oído izquierdo y perdí un poco de audición. De hecho fuimos al médico. Fue muy duro el impacto”, rememora. Hay que tener mucho cuidado, es un trabajo muy serio donde uno se puede lastimar. Pero la verdad es que la adrenalina de trabajar en una serie donde hay mucha acción es super excitante y uno lo disfruta muchísimo”, agrega.

Pero esa circunstancia también tuvo sus ventajas. “Me ayudó a aprender inglés casi perfectamente, de hecho hablo el idioma sin acento. Si hubiera estado en Miami, por ejemplo, no hubiera aprendido inglés ni hubiera podido insertarme en la cultura americana”, reconoce.

Apasionado del arte desde niño, sobre todo de la pintura, Di Monte decidió llegado el momento decantarse por la arquitectura, carrera que terminó pero que nunca ejerció porque la actuación se cruzó de casualidad en su camino. “Un día fui a un casting de McDonald´s en Miami Beach y un mánager me vio en un elevador y me dijo que si me gustaría ser actor. Por ahí fue como empezó la cosa”, señala.

Tuvo suerte. No tardó mucho tiempo en llegarle su primera oportunidad: un protagónico juvenil en la telenovela Rosario (2012). “Fue muy difícil porque no lograba entrar al personaje. Incluso me iban a sacar de la telenovela, pero afortunadamente una directora me ayudó y gracias a ella pude sacarlo adelante y ya todo fue bien”, asegura.
