El autor estadounidense Ernest Hemingway regresará este mes de la mano de sus estudiosos a la ciudad que le cautivó, La Habana, sede del 16º Coloquio Internacional que lleva el nombre del escritor y que en esta ocasión conmemorará los 80 años de “Tener y no tener” y los 65 de “El viejo y el mar”.
La cita bienal, del 15 al 18 de junio próximos, contará con la presencia de 26 expertos de países como Italia, Japón, España, Argentina y Estados Unidos, a los que se sumarán otros 25 académicos cubanos para disertar sobre sus últimas investigaciones en torno a la vida y obra del estadounidense. Entre los temas de esta edición se encuentran la relación del literato con Cuba; sus facetas de cazador y amante de las armas; una revisión de “Tener y no tener”; y una ponencia sobre las mujeres a las que Hemingway amó y con las que “vivió y socializó” durante su vida en la isla caribeña.
También se abordarán aspectos como las cruciales experiencias del escritor a los 18 años, cuando se inició en el periodismo de guerra y se presentará el tercer volumen de las “Cartas de Ernest Hemingway”. Además, la primera jornada se abrirá con una intervención especial de Valerie Hemingway, que fue su nuera y última secretaria.
Junto a los contenidos académicos, se repetirán actividades ya tradicionales de este encuentro como las visitas a algunos de los lugares de La Habana más vinculados al autor de “Por quién doblan las campanas”, entre ellos la habitación 511 del hotel ‘Ambos Mundos’ donde se alojó durante siete años hasta su traslado a la Finca La Vigía, hoy convertida en un célebre museo que cumple 55 años.
